You're not listening at all, that much is obvious. Once again, I had a 185 DAY contact, NOT months or years. School is in session during that time and that is when I worked. School is not in session during Christmas break, Thanksgiving break, Spring break and summer and therefore I do not work those days. I worked the 185 days that school was in session. Now getting to your amazingly stupid remarks about how you don't get paid for 3 months in the summer because you contracted to only work for 9 months but have your payments spread out over 12 months, then proceeded to make the idiotic remark that your healthcare was included.
Well gee, that means that you getting 12 months of healthcare aren't you? Your healthcare as part of your overall compensation has an intrinsic monetary value that is a fixed cost. You do get your healthcare for 12 FULL months don't you Pete? Or are you going to try and say that your healthcare doesn't cover you during the summer? That's part of your overall compensation isn't it? I guess then from early May to September, if you or your family member gets sick and you have to go to the hospital, you pay out of pocket then?? Is that how it works Pete.
Also Pete you say you worked 9 months? Really, then tell me, how long was your spring break? How about Christmas? Thanksgiving? Did you get 2 weeks off during Christmas? I just looked at the Littleton School District calendar year, and I counted up fully 24 vacation or holiday days. Thanksgiving break was one full week off. Christmas Break was 2 weeks off. There were just under 5 weeks off. That's pretty damned good for only working 9 month....., err 7 months 3 weeks.
Ok, since you don't get paid summers off, and if your contract is for 9 months, then I guess the only way to look at the situation is that we need to multiply the pay you are getting per year by 1.33 to get the equivalent of what others are getting paid in salary.
So then, when a teacher bitches that they are only getting a measly $66K per year, Plus lavish benefits and a defined benefits Pension, I will point out to them that they are getting paid the equivalent of $88K per year, plus lavish benefits and DB Pension.
They then are making probably more than the average person out there, yet they are still complaining they aren't making enough.
Maybe you can tell me Pete, how much is enough for a teacher for working 7 months and 3 weeks out of the 12 month year??

So now it seems that you are upset that I have healthcare during the summer? You really are just a whiny little man aren't you? Once again, since it's such a great deal with LAVISH benefits, why aren't you one of the "100's" of people waiting in line for the job of teacher? I invited you to my classroom once to see what a teacher does on a daily basis, but you just "hid underneath your desk" and continued your whiny-ass attacks on the teaching profession. As to how much I think a teacher should make, I'll leave that up to the school districts and school board members to decide who are much more in tune with what teachers are worth than some right wing extremist hater who thinks he knows everything.
Back on subject, President Trump's lies about transgenders in the military and how much they cost is a good example of how his lies affect millions of people. Or do you think reducing the number of people willing to die fighting for this country is a good idea! His lies about white supremacists has emboldened them and put everyone in this country at risk.
As much pissing and moaning as you and your ilk did about Obama's religion, birthplace, golf outings, terrorist fist bumps, beer summits, number of trips to Hawaii, allowing men dressed as women to go into women's restrooms and rape them, middle name, his fat wife and the list goes on... you would think that a pathological liar like our current president would generate some kind of negative comments from you.
