Hi Bob,

The Baader film has, for me, been the best white light solution other than a Herschel wedge. If you can swing a 1.25" wedge you will be getting the best possible views. I have an APM wedge that completely replaced all of my other white light filters.

Daytime Photography with Refractor

Hi Duane,

I have used refractors for daytime photography for years and I have never needed a flattener but for close-ups an extender is often necessary. The stability of the mount is the most critical factor. I shot the hawk photo through an Orion ED80 and a Canon 7D.http://www.flickr.com/photos/65282925@N00/8207077060/

Air Show...these people are nuts!

My wife and I were at an air show in NJ and the Blue Angel pilots were standing in front of us while Sean Tucker was performing in his Oracle biplane. The Blue Angel pilots were laughing and shaking their heads for nearly the entire performance. You know a pilot has to have awesome skill when even the greatest pilots on earth are amazed! The pilots in the Cameron video seemed to be in that same league as Tucker.
