EP recomendation please

Posted By Osvaldo Quintero

Hi!... im new around here... i purchased a Zhummell 10" f/4.9 Dob which I expect to arrive this week... I surely want to buy some EPs for it... which ones do u recommend me? I preffer to watch Deep Space Objects, i currently have two EPs, an UO 5mm Ortho and a 6mm Vixen Ortho, so i dont need EPs in these ranges. About my budget.. well its not very high.. about $200 max for an EP.

Thanks for u advice in advance guys... 8)

Hi!... i currently have a 10" and star hopping using my straight thru finder is difficult, but i always find what im lookin for...planetary nebulas, galaxies, etc... now im thinkin in climbing the apperture ladder again... maybe a 16" a 20" mmm not sure... but if my 10" is hard, im wondering how hard is to find ur object with those big cannons?

Aperture vs. Limiting magnitude

Posted By Osvaldo Quintero

sorry Mark... i can confirm what the others here have said... i currently have a 10" and observe with it from my 4.5mag backyard... my old 4.5" scope from the dark skies countryside have far better views, especially with galaxies. Light pollution simply wash out objects and theres nothing u can do. But good news... a 10" is still a manageable scope for travelling with it to dark skies.
