Polar aligning the EM-200 mount

Posted By Daniel Johnson

Try this: http://www.optique-unterlinden.com/pratique/polarisfinder1.3-en.htm

You enter the pertinent information, and it shows you where to place polaris. It's setup for the older reticles, so if you have the new one that's good up to the year 2030, you'll have to account for that when you align.

Also, have you read through any of the manuals provided at TNR's website. http://www.takahashiamerica.com/catalog/manuals.php

Where I live, I pray for hurricanes and the 2-3 days of complete blackout conditions that follow.

Is that so wrong?

FR equivalents for apo, semi-apo, achromatic?

I'm not sure about other aberrations, but I believe the focal ratio of a achro needs to be 5 times its diameter before it shows little or no color.

Which works out OK for small apertures (like your 3" f/15 Towa) but a 10" would need to be f/50! 8O

Duly Noting AIG Campaign Contributions

For the record it looks like Obama was number 2 behind Dodd for taking the most money. You mentioned McCain, who did take $59K, but failed to mention Obama, who took $101K? The article that you linked to showed its bias. They mention that Obama was one of the top 5 Presidential candidates that took money from AIG, yet they failed to mention that Obama was #1 recipient from AIG of all the presidential candidates. Yep, pretty unbiased, honest reporting from another outlet of the "fair and balanced" media. They just probably forgot to put that in there.. Both parties are politically and morally bankrupt. It would be nice though if the media began reporting honestly, instead of spinning everything they get their hands upon.

Actually, if you look back over the last 10 years, President Bush is in second place behind Dodd for taking the most money from AIG, and #1 all-time for Presidential candidates.

Raising Taxes On the Rich

People will define it differently based on where they live. The pay scale in one section of the US can be as much as 30 years behind those living in another section for the same line of work.

Yeah, people will go out and spend it. They'll go to Wal-Mart or Lowes and buy a bunch of stuff made in China, and on the way home they'll stop and buy a tank of gas that comes from the Middle East.
