Seems at least temporarily he's firmed up the base, and made inroads with the independents according to Gallup. Money quote:

"The surge in political independents who favor McCain for president marks the first time since Gallup began tracking voters' general-election preferences in March that a majority of independents have sided with either of the two major-party candidates."

That's why you see the DU and DailyKOS talking points that Palin is a "radical" all over the web including this forum. <<< See how easy it is to accuse the other side of using party talking points when you don't agree with them Russell?

I do think based on some of the hysterics that someone is scared.

And before we have the usual Obama water carriers chime in with it's Bushes fault, Obama has had four months to impact the economy with his stimulus and it continues to tumble. We are now far exceeding the expectations of unemployment that Obama predicted if we didn't borrow all that money from our children.
