HELP; I'm thinking about an Orion 80 ED. What is a realistic maximum magnification on a good alt az mount with slo-mo controls? AND, what can you really see with an 80 mm Apo?

Hello all. I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I've got a Hamlyn version of Rukl's Moon atlas and am trying to find out if is has any value in the astronomical community at large. Does anyone know how I can tell? Thanks, Sharon
