Celestron changed sexist advertisment

Posted By Shannon Moore

Hey,

I just got this month's Sky and Telescope. Celestron's ad has been changed from "For the Astronomer Who Knows Where He Stands" to "For Astonomers Who Know Where They Stand."

Thanks, Celestron. It's hard enough for us female amateur astronomers without the sexually-biased language.

TSP wasn't a total loss-Tarantula Nebula observed

My friend, Lynn Gibson, was able to observe the Tarantula Nebula in the LMC from TSP.

(astronomers get pretty desperate when it's cloudy out!) smile

Who has seen the Buckeye Nebula?

I spent 10 years at OSU - undergrad and then veterinary medicine. Where was Coach Tressel then??!!! I had to suffer through Cooper most of that time.

WOO HOO! Good luck in Tempe.
