Here is a shot I took from W Michigan back on March 16. It was taken through a 300mm lens @ f/5.6 for 10 min on Elite chrome 200. Guiding was done on the comet.

ST4 operation.

I just received an ST4 and was trying to use it last night but got no where with it. I did the dark frame and then I did the find and focus part. I never got a value reading, and also nothing in the Y axis and once in a while I would get a blip of a number say up to 14 in the X axis. I tried focusing and centering the star(blindly) but that didn't work either. I am in serch of some helpful hints with getting this thing to work. Do I need a flip mirror?

How to get started?

I just got my first digital camera and want to know how to get started taking high quality planetary shots. I have a Nikon Coolpix 4500. I also have a set of the TAK. LE's. for eyepieces. Where do I get the proper adapters to attach the 4500 to the eyepiece. I did a few hand held shots today of the moon at low power but it was nothing to write home about.

I have a person interested in a item but every time I try to reply to his message I get a return mail note with "mail box unavaiable and user unknown." I have another person who wants the same item but is second in line for the item. What to do. I want to be fair as possable.

First digital image

This is my first shot of the moon, Wed of this week. It was hand held, 4500 coolpix through a 70mm refractor with a 18mm LE @ 1/60 sec. Out side temp was 13F.

4500 coolpix, 70mm refractor using 24mm LE. Hand held 1/125 @f/3.1 and zoomed in about halfway.

3rd image!

Another pix with 4500 zoomed in a little. 30mm LE, 1/125, hand held. Shot was during strong twilight, 12F and falling. With hand held shots I usually get about 3-4 good ones out of 50 or so. I need to place a call to ScopeTronix pretty soon.

I used my clubs 16" MEADE SCT and a 24mm LE. Once again it was hand held and the best out of 10 or so shots. I haven't got my adapter yet from Scopetronicx. Enjoy!

Here is my first shot with my new Scopetronix adapter. 70mm refractor 24mm LE, 1/15sec., no drive. No more hand held stuff!!!
