Has anyone done a MOBILE observatory on a trailer that one can tow to the observing site?

I would love to hear how you did it.

Thanks

Where does one find the mods for Philips ToUCam 740/840 webcams?

Also, what are the differences between these cameras?

Thanks for any information you can supply.

Can one see ALL the forum posts?

Posted By Terry Randall

When I look at the forums, I can only see the last 90 days of posts.

If I search on a term, posts beyond the 90 day limit are shown.

How does one view ALL the posts?

Thanks

Why are ad deleltions allowed?

Posted By Terry Randall

I ask because I have seen several sellers go to great lengths to delete any records of their sales..and ratings.

When I see a possible item that I might want, I research the ratings of the seller and what they have sold before.

Allowing ads to be freely deleted, that valuable history is lost.

FWIW for sellers...if you don't have a viewable history here on Astromart, I will not be dealing with you.

Thoughts from other members?

Thanks

Would you buy from someone who doesn't post a pict

Posted By Terry Randall

I don't.

No matter how good a deal it may be.

No picture...absolutely no interest from this buyer.

So why does anyone post an item without a picture?

Just stopped by Astromart to see what was happening...

WOW...who screwed up the classfieds?

I am on dialup..and now I can't see any of the pictures because you try to load MEGA loads of graphics.

I HATE...repeat HATE...the new format.

If it stays, I will likely not renew my membership...why belong when I can't see what you have.

Bloated websites SUCK!!!

Can I get an AMEN....

The new picture format SUCKS..just SUCKS for us on dialup.

That's 20% of America.

If it continues to take many minutes to load MEGA data...this user will be not be renewing his subscription.

Why join when you can't see what's here?

PLEASE..PLEASE..PLEASE put an option in to SHUT OFF THE &*^$# AUTOMATIC LOADING OF PICTURES!

As it is now on dialup, the pictures take MANY MANY MINUTES TO LOAD...THAT IS IF THEY LOAD AT ALL.

The former option of having THUMBNAILS..SMALL THUMBNAILS that the user could click on IF they wanted to see the picture is what worked for dialup and should be left as the DEFAULT option.

As it is now, your website is unuseable with any user on dialup...that's 20% of America.

Thanks

Hey Astromart...are you testing your new changes of the website on a computer that is using DIALUP?

I would suggest you do...it will give you heads up about changes that will adversely affect your membership.

Good luck with the changes...looking forward to the end result.

Thanks

Rate someone with no deal

Posted By Terry Randall

FWIW...I recently contacted a seller about an item he had for sale. He promised it to me, I set up the payment and shipping info and...then when I contacted the seller to complete the transaction he told me he had sold it to someone else.

Not cool.

Of course he got upset when I pointed out that he had just backed out of an ongoing deal...typical defensive behavior of someone who has been called on shady behavior.

I thought about leaving a feedback informing others of his flakeness but decided against it. Then I noted that he had deleted his ad..preventing any feedback..LOL..figures..covering his tracks.

Thank goodness I got lucky with dodging this bullet.

The point of my story is that there is value to allowing feedbacks from those who do not close a deal. As a future buyer, I would want to know about those sellers who are less than honest on their dealings with others..whether or not the deal is closed.

YMMV..
