Hi everyone.
I am new on this forum. But I just wanted to share with all of you my new obesrvatory.
As you see from the picture below, I have a roll-off roof observatory. Its overall dimensions is a 12'x12' with vinyl siding, electricity, and is built to code just like a house. Social Programs = Democratic Socialism
Let's face it, anytime you have social programs where we continually give handouts to any groups, they have this mindset of entitlements.
Don't get me wrong, I don't see anything wrong with some social programs such as social security, etc. The problem I have with any of these programs is that they go too far in granting too many people or the wrong people with what the program was originally intended for.
Well, sometimes I wish people would wake up. But what all of us Americans need is a good douse of loss such as this to realize that you can't go on forever buying things on credit all the time. Sooner or later this was going to catch up to us. Greed makes one blind. How many times have we been told by our parents or grandparents who have lived through the Great Depression that you need to save. So many of us said they didn't know what the heck they were talking about or that oh it'll never happen again.
I have been preaching to my friends at work at the steel company I used to work for that the whole IRA or 401K concept is going to fall flat on its face someday. My notion of this was based on the increasing numbers of "baby boomers" retiring rising rapidly in the early 2000's as they become of age and the flow of outgoing cash would be faster than it going in. And coupled with say a bear market, will drive us into another depression.
What really frightens me is how one candidate claims he is going to "redistribute wealth" in this nation. I would be VERY leary on anyone who says this. 8O This sounds like some kind of socialist concept. This same candidate cannot even begin describing his plan. People just keep cheering him on though.... Sounds like something out of the history books during the mid 1930's Germany when one certain individual started preaching for political power.

Now I AM REALLY concerned. Read up very carefully HOW his plan will tax us per mile for every mile with our automobiles and healthcare if you're over 65??? Better hope you die before that age....

You are all missing the point. Right now, there's a lot of gasoline tax tacked onto the price of a gallon of gas. Do you think for one minute that the government is going to allow you to own and drive a electric car without collecting a road use tax on it? The device is going to be added to the electric cars and will be tabbed at points via a collection center. The tax will be based on miles driven.
As for the health care reform. The letters went out today according to the Cleveland Clinic hospital to all patients age 65 and over explaining that effective March 1, 2009, if they do not have secondary insurance,they must bring $20 for each doctors office visit up front and $70 for each lab visit. Just how many of the elderly have that kind of money to afford secondary health insurance whose premiums are anywhere from $500-$1000 per month? And really, just how many of the nation's elderly can afford to bring the cash up front tabs that are being outlined? :S
Now get this....if you are on Medicaid though, it's all covered. But to qualify for Medicaid you must not own any assets over $600.
I love it. The damn democrats are redistributing the wealth.
