Meade Blue

....I have recently built some components that I will be adding to my 10" Meade SCT and I would like to paint them the same color blue as my scope. My question is does anyone
know the actual formula of the blue color painted on all Meade SCT's, it appears to be a Royal Blue. I would like to go to a paint store and give them the formula and let them mix up the paint.

TAL200-K Mounting

Paracorr Question

....I have a 12-1/2" f/4 "Rich Field" telescope I assembled from a set of old Coulter Optics in pristine condition and I am thinking of buying a Paracorr for coma correction. My question to the group is I only have approximatly 5/8" travel overall. I designed it with a low profile focuser
and when the focusing tube is racked all the way in it is
flush with inside of my tube for no vignetting,when racked all the way out from that point I have only 5/8" out travel
I have been told you need at least 3/4" in travel for a
Paracorr to work is this correct and if so are their any coma correctors out there I could us with my given setup.

LESS than 2X Barlows

barlow in my setup and I got the image plane extended enough to use the binoviewer,but the image quality was not
good (probably because my barlow is of low quality) I guess
now for my question to the forum would be to try to find out
if someone knows if a less than 2x barlow is made and by whom. I don't really need that much extension in my system to use the binoviewer and certainly did not like my matching 20-mm eyepieces being changed into a 10-mm setup.

#497 Autostar upgrade.

at home.It is hooked up to my Meade LXD75 mounting. As I understand it you can upgrade the program installed to a more current version,the version on my Autostar is 26E or
something like that. How do you upgrade the unit to a more current version.

......I recently purchased a used 12" LX200 SCT and it came with all kind of goodies
which included a 2" 20-mm type II Nagler eyepiece enwhich I have been told was a collectors item. To be quite honest I don't see what all the flag waveing is about
with Nagler eyepieces and the prices that are paid for them. I will probably place an add on Astromart to sell or trade for a descent Binoviewer.

.......Boy I sure got my toes burnt on this one but let me say this about the Nagler, it does give sharp images but so do many others,It gives a super wide field of view but so does many others also
for that wide field of view you need to figure out a way to crawl in it for there is no eye relief.
At this point in time a good Binoviewer would still my heart,is there anyone out there interested.

.....Folks I started this topic off with just being honest about my thoughts and ran
into a bunch of diehard purist,this is O.K. as your opinions are your own and I respect that,I don't expect that from you tho as you have shown otherwise. I am sure
the Nagler eyepieces are the greatest eyepieces in the world and for those that can afford them would not accept anything less. After reading so much about the Nagler and realizing the cost involved in owning one I feel perhaps I was expecting more.
You all have had a good laugh at my expense and have enjoyed every moment,so get yourself a good nights sleep,pat yourself on the back and be proud of yourself.
