Anyone have an idea what kind of film Taurus Technologies will be offering Oct 1st. They advertise it as Significantly faster than Kodak PPF 400

No mention of what it is but it IS hypered.

10" Schmidt-Newtonian coma problem

I recently started using my 10"sn for some astrophotography and have found it to have considerable coma in the corners. I have seen reviews on the 8" that said the corrector totally eliminates the coma. Am I wrong to assume the same for the 10"? Is it possible that the mirror might be too tight in its cell causing this?

The first one that shipped to me from Meade, the mirror did a nosedive into the corrector. The technician told me on the phone that they changed the design of the clips holding the mirror in place.

Any thoughts?

Imaging with the ST-2000XCM - M51

Here is my first attempt at galaxies with the ST-2000XCM. Two ten minute unbinned exposures averaged together. I wanted to get another for a median combine but clouds rolled in. The weather is finally starting to cooperate here in Western NY.

M63 - ST2000XCM

I took this image with a quarter moon only about 25 deg away. I really needed more aperature as M63 is only about 9 X 5 arc min. wide. Using the 10" Meade SN at prime covers about 30 X 40 arc min. with the ST-2000. This guy is cropped pretty heavy. 3 ten minute exposures were combined and then processed in Photoshop. Always looking for comments.

Finished roll off

I usually lurk in the CCD section but I thought I would post a link to some pics of my roll off observatory. I figure it will put out some of the fire here.

NGC 7000 mosaic

I stitched together two shots of the "north carolina coast" area of the North American Nebulae. I like the small detail and little asterisms that you can see when you create mosaics of wide field areas that just are not visable in single wide field shots. I plan on adding more images to complete this before Cygnus disappears from the meridian. Ea. shot was 30min with a Meade 10"SN on a CGE using the ST-2000xcm color camera.
