I'll take a stab at this - That UFO thing out of Exekiel has been battered around for a long time. It reads like something from outer space but from all of the bibles that I can read that passage refers to angels, specifcally cherubim. If you read futher in Ezekiel to chapter 10 verse 15 it says just that - plainly. It reads that same way in all versions of the bible that I have ever seen (KJ, new KJ, new Americian standard, revised standard etc).

Universal flood, to make fossils you need a few things:

Quick burial
Water, in the right amounts
Suitable minerals
Encapsulation

If somebody was to go and dig up an old pioneer of one of the 13 original colonies of the US you would find nothing but dust. However if you were to dig up somebody that was mummified during the time of the Pharaohs of Egypt you would have a fossil.

Now that this is said a universal flood raise other questions (like where did all of the fresh water come from?)
