Just a note that the 15th annual Oregon Star Party is scheduled for Aug 8-11, 2002, in the high desert Ochoco Mountains in central OR. Online registration and info available at www.oregonstarparty.org

Just a reminder to those planning on attending the Oregon Star Party, the pre-registration deadline is this week, August 13. You can register upon arrival if you miss the pre-registration deadline. OSP is held August 28-31 in the very dark, high desert site in the Ochoco Mountains. Pre-registration can be done online or you can also send it the form snail mail as long as it is received on the 13th.
Hope to see you there with about 800 folks focusing in on Mars!

Oregon Star Party-Pre-Registration Deadline approa

For those who are interested in attending the Oregon Star Party scheduled during Labor Day weekend this year, please note that the pre-registration deadline is 8/5/05. You can still show up on site to register, but it will run a tad more. For more info, www.oregonstarparty.org.
Dark skies, great speakers, friendly attendees, food, espresso, shower, and other vendors. But mostly, just beautiful high desert dark skies.

The Oregon Star Party does not have a maximum number of attendees, so while pre-registration is closed, you can still attend OSP by registering on-site when you arrive. OSP will be held this year Sept 1-4, in the Ochoco Mountains. We have had a number of folks sending emails thinking that there was an attendance limitation, but that is not the case.

Oregon Star Party-a "Clear" success

OSP 2006 was just great. the weather was awesome, got there Tuesday, and it was clear each night, and it looked like it was going to be clear for a few more nights after the official party ended. What a great time, with 700 folks enjoying the clarity of high desert dark skies, with a mocha in one's hand at 2 am! Lot of good vendors, including TeleVue and Astronomy magazine. Plus having showers, food, and the satellite internet connection again was terrific.
Can't wait until next August for OSP '07.

The 20th annual Oregon Star Party is scheduled for August 16-19, 2007. Early registration gets you in at a cheaper rate, so please check out www.oregonstarparty.org for online registration via paypal, or if you prefer, download and snail mail your forms. Last year's party was a great success, and you can read about it from Astonomy magazine's article about OSP
