I have to respect an opponent's opinion. I wonder what our nation and our world would be like if everyone had the character of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush. I also wonder what it would be like if everyone was like Bill Clinton, John Kerry and Ted Kennedy. Think about it.

I also find it interesting how peoples view can be so diametrically opposed. As for Bill Clinton, I don't really care about his affairs. It's his overall integrity and inability to be truthful. Same for John Kerry - he apparently doesn't care what or how many lies he tells as long as he gets the votes, whether it's about SUV's, condemning the programs he voted for, saying he "voted for it before he voted against it" (pardon my laughter), or saying Bush is in Iraq for oil (if that were true, Bush Sr. would have already done that). No they are not "popes" as you put it, but they ARE supposed to be role models. I certainly could not recommend them to my children for any ethical direction whatsoever.
As for foreign policy, I don't agree with everything I see, either, but one thing I do understand is that the naive idea that terrorism should be handled as a law enforcement issue is one of the biggest failures of liberal foreign policy ever. 9/11/01, with Clinton having 8 years to prepare the nation against such attacks, is proof. As for the US being involved in wars on foreign soil, remember that our involvement in Vietnam, Korea AND World War II started under Democratic administration and ended under Republican administration. All were in the name of protecting freedom and stopping the spread of whatever "evil empire" existed at the time. What is different now?
All said, I respect your views and believe firmly in your right to hold onto them and express them. Whatever we believe in, we should embrace it wholeheartedly. Thanks for the dialogue.

Kerry's VPPosted By Rick Carpenter |
No better choice for reducing health care costs than the man who set the standard for frivolous malpractice suits and driving the liability side of healthcare costs out of sight. John Edwards is a two-faced, lying COWARD, just like John Kerry. Sorry I'm so shy about sharing my feelings. Although the thought of McCain as a running mate is rediculous (I know John McCain personally), at least the ticket would have some ethics and some courage!

Who is the best Starship Captain of these three?Posted By Rick Carpenter |
Kirk is the original, all right, but Patrick Stewart is a better actor. William Shatner had the same dull, boring "can't be wrong, can't show fear" monotone script in that "smash hit series" TJ Hooker. His priceline.com commercials are the same way. His best acting job was as the spaceship pilot on Airplane 2. It's like saying Clint Eastwood is the best western movie star!
