Siebert Binoviewer guesses

Posted By Andrew Healy

Looking at the Harry Siebert binoviewers again for the guess I would also say it looks like the eyepiece holders are 2 inch holders for each individual eyepiece and it is still missing the Siebert Black Night decal.

HERSCHELIAN REFLECTOR

Posted By Andrew Healy

CURIOUS IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIMENTED WITH ONE OF THESE AFTER READING THE ARTICLE BY THOMAS DOBBINS IN SKY AND TELESCOPE MAGAZINE MARCH 2004 ISSUE. I AM INTERESTED IN BUILDING ONE AS I HAVE NEVER TRIED ONE PERSONALLY TO SEE ITS OPTICAL EXCELLENCE AND IT CALLS FOR A 6 INCH F22.5 SPHERICAL MIRROR AND A 4 INCH FLAT ACCORDING TO THE ARTICLE, DOES ANYONE KNOW WERE TO OBTAIN THESE TYPES OF MIRRORS? I HAVE TRIED SURPLUS SHED BUT THEY HAVE NO FLATS IN THE 4 INCH SIZE AND GOD KNOWS WERE A 6 F22.5 LIES. IF ANYONE CAN HELP I REALLY APPRECIATE THE TIME.

THANKS
ANDREW

Siebert contest guess.....

Posted By Andrew Healy

I clearly see what is wrong with the binoviewers, there is no Siebert Black Night sticker on the top of the binoviewers authenticating their origination and builder.

Refractor Problems

Posted By Andrew Healy

Leslie the front element of the refractor lense set is backwards in the set , reverse the front lense so it faces inward.

I have had the same problem before.
