no batteries camara

Posted By George Bowers

Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm new at this, can anyone suggest a newer 35mm cam for astro work that requires no batteries...at all? Does anybody make a new SLR that does this for those on a budget? Perhaps a new cam with a vintage design? Old stuff is great, but has a greater propensity toward failure. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

sac 8?

Posted By George Bowers

I just recieved a supposedly "SAC8" imageing camara from a fellow Astromart user. However, it doesn't look anything like what is shown on their webpage. It is much larger than the Sac7b that I have. It is approximatly 4 inches in diamater and is in a black enclosure with a fan mounted on the rear. It also has an external box measuring approx. 4X6 inches with various in and out ports and cables and has a gain control knob. Is this for real,a prototype, or have I been ripped off? I haven't been able to test it sinse my laptop is broken and I am awaiting a new one. Any help with info would be appreciated at this late hour.

Who is really at fault here? The machine or the machine operator?
