I have a Celestron CPC 1100 Edge. I am using a 12V Celestron Lithium Pro power supply.

The cord on this power supply is very short. Tonight I ran into a problem slewing in azimuth because of cord wrap. I simply did not notice how tight the cord was getting in the dark. The mount motor made a strained sound, and then completely stopped during rapid slewing.

Could this have damaged the gears or the azimuth motor?

I am buying a Sky-Watcher EQ-R Pro mount and Sky-Watcher 100 mm ED APO Esprit. I have two ZWO cameras: ASI290mm mini and ASI174 mm mini, and a Canon 6D Mark II DSLR. I need to mount these cameras for astrophotography.

I need recommendations about what 50-60 mm guidescope will work, mounting hardware for this, and what off axis guider, OAG and spacers, will work. The back focus distance from the telescope’s field flattener and camera sensor should be 63 mm.

Comments, suggestions?

I am getting ready to try photographing the moon with my DSLR. I have a Canon 5D Mark IV with a 70-200mm telephoto and a 2x extender, and a heavy GITZO tripod and ball mount. What are the pros and cons using the ball mount for doing this? I don't have access to different kinds of mounts, like a gimbal or fluid mount to try them out. One advantage I've noticed with the ball mount is that I can point the camera at zenith without it hitting the tripod. A disadvantage is that it can only be balanced when the camera is level.

Why are Tele Vue Ethos eyepieces often recommended in groups of three focal lengths:

21mm, 13mm and 8mm

or

17mm, 10 and 6 mm?

Does anyone have a Sky-Watcher Skymax 150mm f/12 that weighs 14 lb, or similar, mounted on a GSO SkyView Deluxe Alt-Az Mount that has a 20 lb limit? Are there vibration, or other problems, because the telescope weight is close to the mount's limit?
