But, alas, you made no reference to:  "masked, racial profiling thugs, with no accountability or  training, who fly in the face of the 4th amendment with no warrants or probable cause".  Probably because one can only agree with my entirely accurate description of ICE and their actions since the Trump re-election.

Where is the ICE officer who shot the woman in Minnesota?  What process is in place that is even remotely similar to what normal police must do if they are involved in a shooting.  Suspended pending investigation is normal.  Surrender weapon and badge (yeah, they have badges like thugs in the Humphrey Bogart movie had badges).....this guy is in hiding.  The head guy, Homan, said "he must be in hiding" indicating that his whereabouts are unknown even to his boss.... And he and Noem have already announced the outcome of his hearing, if and when it ever occurs.  He will be found innocent.  Accountability?

And the wearing of face masks certainly blocks accountability.  Who are these guys?   Do they have their name on their chest? Do they report to some chain of command? They can't even get their uniforms straight.  Police.   ICE.   Government Agent.  ERO (what is that, even?) are emblazoned on their backs as they wear and carry a variety of Camo gear and tactical equipment that anyone can buy at 1 000 gun stores. Meal team six.  

As for the 4th amendment - ICE has gone door to door in apartment buildings in Chicago.  There's no probable cause in that case.  And the most obvious and egregious violation is the complete lack of judicial warrants.  They just grab someone - like the 17 year old at the Walmart and disappear him into a van, releasing him miles away.  They also grab people in court buildings as they exit immigration hearings.  No warrants, of course.  I can't begin to list all the violations of the 4th they have done - I haven't time.  Unreasonable search and seizure indeed.

And I'll repeat myself:  A lot of very bad shit has gone down in history while reasonable men told everyone not to panic.

Sotomayor’s dissent is compelling too.   These are not easy issues in the real world outside of social media.

Also Kavanaugh says that ethnicity and speaking English with an accent can only be reasonable grounds if  they are combined with looking at people lining up for temporary day jobs or working as gardeners, in car washes etc. as illegals commonly do.  

The residential streets of Minneapolis are not the place to look for illegals.  Why is ICE there?

This post is just a long way to say “spare me” when you quote the capital police report exonerating their own guy.   This post is also intended to preemptively clarify that I do not consider these three police shootings to be morally equivalent, since someone may read carelessly and think that was my point.

With Bovino's demotion/retirement/relocation I cannot see any successor changing this policy.

Doesn't matter if we call it an insurrection or a riot or the Annual Christmas Bird Count.  Armed people were using force to gain entry to the building with quite a bit of success  and to the chamber where the Pence ballot procedure thing was supposed to happen (sorry, I can't remember the accurate name for this...). 

Officers inside were seeing a mob that wasn't going to back down and they could only imagine how many of the people cowering inside would be injured or even killed by the mob.  People the cops are sworn to protect.  Remember the 'Hang Pence' folks? What might have ensued if they won entry to the chamber? 

If you advance on a cop, armed or not, who tells you to stop and you just keep advancing - you're gonna get shot and it would be a righteous shoot every time.

I doubt the cops were having a wee debate among themselves.  "Gee Bob do you think this is a riot or an insurrection?"  "Why are you asking such a question?"  "Well, if it is a riot then I don't think we can shoot them but if it is an insurrection we will have to shoot."  "I dunno -- hey, they've broken the window and someone is trying to climb through............."

I'm mixed on this one by the way - the overall circumstances matter a lot.

She had the steering far over to the right, as in completing a 3-point turn.  She was trying to escape.  Not hit the cop who was moving to his right at the time  His first shot, through the windshield was from the vicinity of the right from corner of the car. but his feet were clear of the path of the car.  His next two were, murderously, from beside the car through the open window when he was in no danger at all..

Note the position of the shooter's feet at the time of the shots.  He wasn't being run over or 'hit'.
