That is a fact.

I'm still waiting for you to show me your posting where you came out at any time to talk about the criminal victims, the women who were raped and murdered by illegal aliens in this nation.

You can't because you never did.

Like all leftists you side with the violent murderers and assassins because your morality is up your ass, like all Marxist leftists, whose moral compass is backwards.
He's a non-citizen, illegal immigrant who couldn't be deported to El Salvador due to the ruling "withholding of removal (to El Salvador)" granted him by a judge. Yes, even illegals have civil rights.

They are not deporting people just for being illegal.  They are deporting illegals who are also criminals. Given due process for the intended deportee  this is a thing I am actually in favour of.  But Garcia is not a criminal.  No proof of his being in a gang exists. The government themselves admitted this.   And the government admitted he shouldn't have been deported to El Salvador.

Also, whether or not I post about some injustice somewhere does not mean I'm in favour of the injustice.  You don't post about the covering up and denial of the past mistreatment and murders of indigenous children at 'residential schools' in both of our countries.  So does that mean you are in agreement with the denials?  Of course you aren't.

Never mind that instead of helping the working class, Trump has created a government of billionaires, and his "Liberation Day" and the start of his trade war have done an enormous amount of damage to the working class. If things continue going downhill like they are, and many economic indicators are worse than when he took office, then Republicans will get destroyed in the mid-terms. And if Democrats take both houses, they will impeach Trump again. MAGA will scream that it's a "witch hunt," but the truth is, Trump and his administration have already committed impeachable offenses. All of this is why Trump will go down as the worst President in US history.
....and this is precisely what the R party is doing.
"Ahm gonna stick it to those fat cat libruls who kowtow to the wealthy elites by voting for a party that kowtows to the wealthy elites."

Bold plan.

Dave, still waiting for the Davis Response (TM) to my post 22.

I disagree with Dave's angle, vehemently.  Dave, I am assuming that the "hick" dialect you used is a dig at the intelligence of Trump voters.  I'm not wrong am I?  You are portraying Trump voters as uneducated boobs right?   This is wrong on many levels as caricatures often are.  The working classes had solid and intelligent reasons to vote for Trump, or at least to vote against Biden/Harris.  Look at the messaging during the campaigns.   Look at the economy last November.   Look at the immigration disaster created by Biden/Harris.  Much solid post-election analysis has focused on just how completely the Democrats have abandoned their working class base.

Democrats will continue to lose elections to the extent they continue to mock the working class (while courting the pricey endorsements of Oprah, Springsteen and other "royalty." ).   You ended your dig at Trump voters with, "...by voting for a party that kowtows to the wealthy elites."   This is quaint.  In 2024, and since at least the middle of the Obama years, the Democrats are clearly the party kowtowing to the elites.  Look at Hollywood for one example.  One big monolithic love-fest for the Democrats.  The Democrats absolutely own the "white highly-educated upper-middle class/wealthy" demographic.  How much more elite can a demographic get?

Old school liberal Ruy Teixeira says it better than I can.

The massive transfer of wealth to the uber wealthy that is happening right now isn't kowtowing to the elites?

The combined net worth of the 2020 class of the 400 richest Americans was $3.2 trillion, up from $2.7 trillion in 2017 (Wiki)  The 2025 numbers are even more impressive. (Forbes) "For 2024,In all, they are worth a record $5.4 trillion, up nearly $1 trillion from last year. A dozen have $100 billion-plus fortunes, also a record. And admission to this elite club is pricier than ever: A minimum net worth of $3.3 billion is required, up $400 million since 2023". How much do you think the 400 richest Hollywood elites collectively have?  Would it even reach the 3.3Billion that ONE person must have to crack the top 400??

Using a bit of hillbilly dialect does hint at the adjective 'stupid'.  You are 100% correct, James.  But if this is the wrong adjective what would be the correct one to describe millions of people who vote for a party that is clearly whittling away at their Social Security, their 401k's, their health, their personal safety, their very citizenship rights  as clearly stated policy?

So, I would call the vast majority of working class people who migrated R, or migrated to Trump in 2024 rational voters given the economic and social context of last year's elections and especially given the choices presented to the voters and the campaigns those choices ran.

I nagged a lot about this in mid-November 2024, but I am not going to sit by when my friends and associates reduce the motivations of 77 million voters to mere "stupidity" (or "racism" or "sexism"wink just because my friends and associates disagree with Trump voters on policy.  Think about it, that is what you are doing.  You are saying that 77 million people, or at least a lot of them, are "stupid"  because they have different circumstances, values, and policy preferences --- if someone prefers a policy that HURTS THEM and they know it is going to hurt them and they vote for it anyway,  I'm not sure what to say about that, what words to use --- This is a perfect example of James' original point.

Why Public Broadcasting is Vital.

Posted By David Cotterell

The TL;DR of the guy's presentation - only about 2 1/2 minutes, BTW, is that public media are not beholden to corporate money and commercial sponsors.  e.g. it is difficult to impossible for a 'news network' to publish stories that are critical of certain corporate practices when those very corporations buy commercial time on the network.

Also a fair point.  I wonder under what conditions the newscasts of my youth, and perhaps yours as well, operated such that we got trusted news from Walter Cronkite, Huntley and Brinkley, Douglas Edwards, E.R. Murrow et al.  Were these halcyon days free of news bias?

If all the news media today are beholden to some entity, be it commercial or governmental, whither "Journalism" (TM)?

Canada Elects Liberal In Response To Trump/Auto Tariffs

““Elect the man who has the strength and wisdom to cut your taxes in half, increase your military power, for free, to the highest level in the World, have your Car, Steel, Aluminum, Lumber, Energy, and all other businesses, QUADRUPLE in size, WITH ZERO TARIFFS OR TAXES, if Canada becomes the cherished 51st. State of the United States of America,”

He’s broken one of the greatest international friendships in history in 3 months.  The Con party here are very much admirers of Trump.
