Will We See a Spike?

Posted By Mel Maki

Minnesota was down to very few cases. Garcetti went from dry sand laws to kneeling unprotected surrounded by people. Most of the protesting I saw was emotional people yelling close to each other. A sign said, "Forget about COVID, this is more important" If there does not seem to be a spike, was social distancing not as important as we thought? Seems like common sense that a spike will happen in some areas.

George Floyd's Background

The waxing romantic of these movements can be hard to take. Just a little Al Sharpton goes a long, long, long way. Defunding police? This is a lot of lunacy and the criminal element says thanks a lot, chumps.

It would be better for the Dems to encourage some law and order during the demonstrations. It doesn't look good that a few weeks ago a woman faced jail for opening her hair business and now people are getting away with bricks through windows.

I have friends who are both university professors. He is from Arkansas and his wife is from Alabama. They now live in Texas. Since they are moderately well off, they can afford to drive a nice car.  They have been pulled over numerous times when driving, not only in Texas, but all states between Texas and Alabama. Pulled over, not because they were doing anything wrong, but because they were suspected of driving a stolen car. Because blacks are not supposed to drive nice cars!

That is racial profiling at its worse and symptomatic of how badly treated blacks are in southern states.

I could also relate plenty of stories from my students.

Maurice

That is especially bad because they have readers to see if the car is on the hot sheet before they pull it over.

Cameras that read plates the cruiser passes for hot cars, warrants, expired licenses. The data base can be searched later for locations a car was seen. One company brags 1800 a minute, across 4 lanes, and up to 150 mph.
Looks like 3/4 of departments use them.

NY's top public health official M. Levine says, "If there is a spike, don't blame the protesters, blame racism.
Part of his job?

The doc at Fox, Marc Siegel, is claiming the virus is getting weaker. Says the urge to survive makes the virus mutate to be weaker, to avoid killing the host. That sounded better to me when he said it.
Also says the study on Hydroxy that the Lancet used to publish their negative report was fake. Says the Lancet made a big mistake not taking a better look before they published.

I remember reading the WHO lied for China stating there was no human to human transmission. If that has held up they are on my least favored organization list.

The networks have different news. Read less, know less.

A lot of errors early on. Lancet also looked bad.

The Fox News Stock Market Graphic

I think this is a bunch of BS, Rod. These are events that turned our country inside out. Nothing wrong with charting them. I'm sure WWII, earthquakes, and other disasters are charted, also. I don't care how many celebs, people famous in sports, politicians, generals and pundits say otherwise.

You better not buy and sell stocks if you are afraid to chart how mass killings, disasters, epidemics, riots in a city, and everything else that is bad changes the markets.

I was watching CNN today and they were saying stay tuned in, we have a story of a woman crying!

Wait! We better see what Bill Maher has to say about this!
