Again, some people are not happy with a gov check, they want to go to work! Others are worried about the country taking a huge financial hit if people do not start to work! Many did not get a $1200 check, also. 
Some also worry their job won't be there later.

I have asked maybe forty people, checkers, sales people, and acquaintances if they knew anybody that got hit with the virus. They said no. This is a rural area, but if people knew somebody that had been sick, there would be more people being more careful. The stores here do have tape on the floor to remind people and there is some spacing but only the senior citizens seem to be very concerned.

If I spend most of an hour around town (25,000) shopping and paying bills I might see 10 percent of the people wearing masks. In a grocery store every employee will have them. I only go to town a couple of times a month.
Now, a grocery store here might have 10-15 customers at one time. A small grocery maybe 5 customers. A Wallmart maybe 30. I haven't gone to the early openings for seniors only. I have not seen or heard a person cough since I first heard of this problem.  A good time to live in the sticks, so far.

The county bordering on my west has 4 cases. This is another reason for the different opinions.
My county has about 90,000 and has had 25 cases for a month, but us five S. OR counties have been in phase one since yesterday.

I know people that would ask how many grocery workers in the nation died? Oh, wow, sure are some bad things that happen to people in cities.
When they know people that get sick they will have a different response.
I'm old so I know the threat.

Greg, why don't you want to save lives?
The gov can just write checks and make everybody whole.
But there might be one or two Dems that want a destroyed economy for Trump before the election.
