25?  (Not sure I have the sequence correct.)   Respect the Free Trade Agreement in place among Mexico, Canada and the US.  We need to be a trading bloc with some 'punch' around the world.....

About US student loans:

"The student loan debt growth rate outpaces rising tuition costs by 353.8%.

$90.5 million or 12.4% of debt in repayment was delinquent in the first fiscal quarter of 2020, prior to the CARES Act.

Despite federal relief measures, collective student debt increased 8.28% in 2020.

11.8% of delinquent loan debt was in default.

9% of borrowers who attended public institutions were behind on their student loan payments.

By July 2020, 11.2% of adults with student loan debt reported they were unable to make at least one student loan payment that year-to-date.
15.1% of student borrowers under 40 years old are behind on their student loan payments.

20 years after entering school, half of student borrowers still owe $20,000 each on outstanding loan balances.

But not usurious in the strict dictionary definition sense.

Still a huge problem.

Well if all those people Trump pardoned, and all those capital invaders he's going to pardon on Jan 20, aren't going to go to jail then why should Biden's son go to jail?

"Deny, defend, depose"

How many procedures for how many patients were denied coverage and the patient died?  Not just by this unfortunate CEO's company but among all of them.

Tens of thousands? Thousands?  Hundreds?

Who is responsible?

That's why, although murder and gun violence (outside of self defence) are always wrong, I can see the reason for the killing...

I understand how many people feel toward the U.S. health insurance industry so, given the number of firearms about, there's bound to be one gun owner who, as George Carlin once put it, "just needed one more thing to go wrong..."

Actually I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner...

Understanding is not approval. I see that you, Rod, clearly grok the distinction.  Alas, others do not.

e.g.  I understand why a guy would rob a bank.  He's poor, or too lazy to work for an honest living or mentally unstable or a combination. But I do not approve of the robbing of banks.

Thank you.
Stranger in a Strange Land was a sci-fi book that was very well read back in the '50s - 70's.  'Grok' was a word Heinlein coined as part of the vocabulary of the Martian character.  The word has entered the general lexicon.

As an aside, Richard, I believe you would enjoy Heinlein's writings.  Very entertaining and imaginative.

Wiki: " Within the framework of his science-fiction stories, Heinlein repeatedly addressed certain social themes: the importance of individual liberty and self-reliance, the nature of sexual relationships, the obligation individuals owe to their societies, the influence of organized religion on culture and government, and the tendency of society to repress nonconformist thought."

I've read most of his works.

But then back to the subject, you stated that Rod "groked" it?  LOL

I don't know if that is even a conjugation of the word grok
but I'll go with it for these purposes, just to point out that I never accused You of being OK or approving of it, which is what you seemed to imply when you used the word grok to describe Rod's understanding and stated that others here don't get it.

I'm assuming that you meant me when you used the term "Others"

Hopefully, you "grok" that I wasn't implying that you were approving of taking out a CEO because of something his company may or may not have done to a person.

I will point out that it seems that the left here has come to a conclusion regarding the shooter's motive.

Now having explained the above, I would simply say that our resident Nim-Rod in California hasn't the capability to understand my posting regarding the situation.

There is a clear distinction I thought I made, since I put it in words that anyone could understand.

Yet, it appears to be a distinction of which our resident communist seems to be unable to make, as he decided to put words in my mouth which I never stated, nor did I think about you.

Hopefully that clears up the matter for you if you did happen to be unsure as to my implications.  smile
My use of 'grok' was not in conjugated form.  I just used 'grok'.  Quoting my post: "I see that you, Rod, clearly grok the distinction."

In an earlier post you said, "I guess you understand that if one has a beef with an insurance company it is "Understandable" to expect that the CEO should be targeted for death,"

There is a difference in meaning between 'understand' and 'understandable'.

From the Oxford online dictionary: Understandable: "to be expected; natural, reasonable, or forgivable."  Putting this definition in your quoted sentence above,

"I guess you understand that if one has a beef with an insurance company it is "to be expected, natural, reasonable or forgivable" to expect that the CEO should be targeted for death,"

The sentence thus implies my approval of the shooting which is entirely the reverse of my point.  I do not consider the murder "to be expected, natural, reasonable or forgivable" even though I can think of many reasons why someone might want to kill the guy.

Everything in blue, above, seems to be what Rod picked up on with his thought that you were accusing me of approving of the shooting.

Nuance, eh?

I did not.  If you misconstrued my meaning that's unfortunate.  I'm telling you directly that I don't now, nor did I ever believe that you were OK with the murder, and I never implied as such.

Is that clear enough English language for you Dave?

If that  straightforward statement that I've just made clear above, isn't enough for you, then I don't know what else I can say to you to make you less confused if you still are confused about what I was saying.

If you prefer to play semantic word games that's your prerogative however I'm telling you straight out that I wasn't accusing you of condoning it.
I didn't accuse you of saying I approved.  Rod did.  My little blue message was an attempt to explain what he may have picked up on..

So, in a way, I'm saying I understand why Rod said what he said but I didn't approve of his statement.   Which seems to be the whole thread in a nutshell...
