Dodd's senate seat on life support?

Posted By Mike Strieber

Things are looking good for Republicans to gain back at least one senate seat next year. Dodd is showing up in the news just about every other day now and none of it for good reasons. But then again, Democrats re-elected Marion Barry so who knows.

I guess France isn't real impressed...

...at least some government officials in France.

"Mr Sarkozy is pouring cold water on President Obama's efforts to recast American leadership on the world stage, depicting them as unoriginal, unsubstantial and overrated."

"The President (Sarkozy) is annoyed by what he sees as the naivety and the herd mentality of the media..." This one I have to agree with.

"The American President's call "to free the world of the menace of a nuclear nightmare" was hot air...It was rhetoric – not a speech on American security policy..."

Maybe a bit of professional jealousy? Perhaps. Still goes to show just how much of a "friend" France is...demonstrated once again.

New twist for Obama...

Posted By Mike Strieber

It appears Obama finally found a national secret he wants to protect but a California judge tells him he can't.

What was gained?

Posted By Mike Strieber

Can someone give me one good reason why Obama would choose to release top secret material such as the interogation techniques used in the past? Other than for political brownie points that is...as it is clear that is why it was done. And it's not just Republicans complaining, plenty of Democrats are befuddled also. Even his own CIA chief said don't release it. It's more than a little disturbing when the Commander in Chief puts politics over national security.

Disturbing...

This is the mindset that occupies the White House. I wonder if Axelrod thinks all opposing speech and contrary views to his own are "unhealthy"? Do you suppose he thought the anti-war protests and movement were unhealthy? Gay rights or environmental activists? The civil rights movement perhaps?

"Axelrod suggests 'Tea Party' movement is 'unhealthy'"

Our nation is being run more and more everyday by political ideology. It's sad that Obama surrounds himself with such political hacks like this buffoon and Rahm. Especially considering the obvious influence they have on him. Obama's administration alone will do, and is doing, more to revitalize the Republican party than any other entity.

I've changed my mind...

I now want the Justice Department to investigate the Bush legal conculsions on enhanced interogation techniques for no other reason than to see Pelosi go down. Her specifically, but the rest of the hypocritical Democrats who also knew exactly what was going on will be exposed for what they are. If you don't think this investigation will open up the largest can of worms this country has seen in a long time you're fooling yourself. Congress is about to be shaken to its core. Unfortunately my gut tells me Obama won't let it happen...for that very reason.

Tainted journalism and politics just don't mix well. I think Fox's ratings are getting to their heads. How MSNBC-esque of them.

Auto Industry

Posted By Mike Strieber

When flying home from the east coast today I sat next to a guy who was recently laid off from the auto industry. He worked for a parts manufacturer connected primarily to GM. He worked for them for 15 years and I believe was a middle management kind of guy. I found it interesting he received $140,000 lump sum severance pay along with his full retirement. It sucks to lose your job but that's not too bad of a way to lose it. Perhaps the fact that he was on his way to Vegas might tell you how distressed this one guy was. He did say many others didn't get quite the good deal and it was not consistent on how the severance was applied. Not sure what to read into that.
