Oil Prices Down/Calif Gas Prices Way Up

The giant spike in California gas prices this week is due to, "heavier than normal routine refinery maintenance"? What, each independently owned and operated refinery on the west coast experiences heavier than anticipated maintenance at the same time? Are you kidding me?

This is oil company horse----

And the reason to keep CA gas prices high, but not the rest of the country, is?

Newport Beach Sends Obama A Bill

Posted By Patrick Keafer

Cities across the country need to do this to all administrations and they also need to be billed for lost productivity. These jokers fly in, tie up traffic for hours for a campaign event, then fly out. It is getting completely ridiculous.

The Sanctity of Marriage(s)?

A federal judge has ruled there's sufficient evidence to allow a polygamous family made famous by a reality TV show to pursue a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Utah's bigamy law.

The family sued Buhman, Gov. Gary Herbert and Attorney General Mark Shurtleff in July 2011, claiming Utah's bigamy statute violates its constitutional rights to due process, equal protection, free exercise of religion, free speech and freedom of association.

I thought marriage was to be between a man and only one woman!

I think they have a case because it violates their religious beliefs. I have no problem with it.

[African-Americans]+[Gays]+[Hispanic Voters]= 4 Mo

Yeah, you guys could watch Fox. You could subscribe to tons of political blogs. You could read leading newspapers. Or...you could just listen to me. I have had Obama pegged for a long time.

Here's his formula:

[African-Americans]+[Gays]+[Hispanic Voters]= 4 More?

You'll see him pander to more minority groups before the election.

I think what republicans are going to find is that there won't be enough conservative white voters to elect a republican president in a decade.

The true winning combination for Obama is [non-conservative whites]+[blacks]+[hispanics]. The GOP will have the leftovers, which isn't much electorally. The presidents move today was very smart.

Supremes Rule on Az Immigration

Posted By Patrick Keafer

Asking anyone for papers or running immigration checks based on suspicion should be unconstitutional. If Arizona wants to make this legal and fair they should just run it on everyone, regardless of race, class, or suspision.

So who IS he?

Posted By Patrick Keafer

Who cares? You and James wouldn't vote for him anyway because he has an R next to his name.

If he ran as a moderate you'd accuse him of being a stealth conservative. Now that he's migrated to the right over a number of years you accuse him of being a flip flopper.

Covering Texas Uninsured

Who covers uninsured for their health care in Texas?
The taxpayers, that's who:

Isn't nice to know where our social network of taxpayer support goes to when it's needed?

So basically the system is working as designed and state taxpayers are taking care of their own. So where is the need for Obamacare? There isn't one.

Clinton knocked it out of the park, for Richard

Is it a good thing that the most powerful message (and messenger) to stay the course is coming from someone who was President twelve years ago? Probably not.

ADP Jobs Forecast: UP!

If the Dow and the ADP jobs report for August is accurate, August will exceed economist's expectations! Right now, the Dow is smoking hot!

Only added 96k jobs.

U.S. employers added 96,000 jobs last month, a weak figure that could slow the momentum President Barack Obama hoped to gain from his speech Thursday night to the Democratic National Convention.

The unemployment rate fell to 8.1 percent from 8.3 percent in July. But that was only because more people gave up looking for jobs. People who are out of work are counted as unemployed only if they're looking for a job.
