Eyepieces for Orion 120 ST

Hello Don,

I have a Sky-Watcher 120ST. A 2" WO diagonal is what I use and a TS-WA 30mm 2" eyepiece (68 degree AFoV)from TS Germany. Also I Ihave a second hand 13mm Nagler 1.25" which gives marevlous pin point wide fields wievs.
I seldom use this scope for planetary or double stars but when I do I use 9mm Antares and 7mm planetary from TS which I think is TMB + an Intes 2,4X Barlow.
Hope this helps!Rember this scope wont be happy with high power and planetary/double stars observing; try stay under ca. 120X. Thats my experience!

PS: 120ST is a wonderful refractor for widefield observing!

LXD75 or CG-5 ?

Hi John,
I have never used the Meade LSD75 but I have both CG-5 single axis drive and CG-5 goto. Both works fine with my Intes MK66 and 8" f/6 Newton. The goto is very accurate with both scopes. Iam talking visual observing, for imagening the 8" f/6 might be on the limit.

solar transit?

Don`t know what it was, but defenitely not Mercury or Venus. Maybe you just confirmed the exictence of the planet Vulcan, which some astronomers thought had an orbit inside Mercury in late 1800 8)
Einsteins relative theory ruled that planet out however sad
Seriousely, might have been an eartbound satelite, as others posters suggests.

Anyway must have been exciting to observe!

Jovian moons naked eye this morning!

Gratulation to that amazing obs. ( with that seeing I wonder how J. had looked like in agood scope?)I have been in astronomy since -65 and never had a chance to note any Galian moons naked eye.
