Election night plans... survey.

I'm driving Toronto to New Brunswick tomorrow and Tuesday to visit my cousin in Miramichi.  It will be early Tuesday evening when I arrive so we're going to have a couple of steaks on the BBQ and then get the guitars going.  Some of his friends are coming by so a regular down-east kitchen party will happen.  There is zero plan to watch the results as they come in....(" we have 1% of the polls in so we're calling <state> for <candidate> at this time.... - here's talking head to explain it all for you....." blah blah all night long....)   Wednesday morning will be soon enough to turn on CBC and find out how many lawsuits and other shenanigans will be delaying the definitive, legal result.  

How about you folks!!

Women, in combination with Latinos (The PuertoRico debacle), people who worry about the consumer price inflation caused by the tariffs he's been proposing lately and any undecided folks who have noticed the obvious recent decline in Donald's intellectual abilities will push Harris over the top.

Supplementary prediction - Trump will claim victory well before midnight EST tonight.  No matter the actual electors count.

The American voters have handed Ukraine to Russia.

Not far behind will be Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.  Right after Trump pulls the US out of NATO.

And the Supreme Court is already 6-3 in favour of the R's. No need to 'defy' them.

Trump Releases Tariff Plan: Will Raise Prices For Americans

I live in the US's by far largest trading partner.  Of course we won't be paying the tariffs - that will fall to the American consumer.  These tariffs will, for the most part, affect us with reduced volume of sales for our exports to the US.  The sales volume will be reduced because the higher prices Americans will have to pay will reduce demand.  This will hit hard here and there will be economic suffering as a result.

This is the #1 thing that a Republican win will bring to us here in Canada.  

The 60% or greater tariffs on Chinese goods will be a terrible blow to all Americans, especially those of modest means.  I mean, have you been to a Walmart or other large retailer and just walked around reading the labels to find the country of origin of all the goods in there?  Easily 75% from China.  What are people going to do if $100 worth of Walmart retail goods today costs $160 in January?

It will be interesting to see what the stock market does when the 10-20% tariffs kick in. 60% on Chinese stuff.   And inflation - will it go back up some?.

Nov 6 he announced 10-20% tariffs 'across the board' and much higher ones for China.  "Promise made, promise kept", he said.

If he 'won't be allowed' to do so who will be the ones to not allow it?

What a relief that this only occurred in the USA under the economic policies of Joe Biden who is solely to blame for inflation and deserved to be turfed out of office as a result.  Now that Trump will be taking over soon everything will be fine and his tariffs will reduce inflation even more!  Yay!  

How frightening would it be if the whole world had suffered inflation at the same time as countries everywhere threw zillions of dollars at the Covid crisis and its aftermath.  Inconceivable!
