Dome slit

I have a lot of wind, therefore I built a dome, so I made my shutter roll up and over the dome so it would not catch the wind.

I also split my shutter into two pieces so I could open the lower part to gain access to the dome without having to open the whole thing. This is useful for maintenance. It was more complicated to build but once finished no problems.

Just one of many ways to do it.

Pictor 201XT cable questions

It has been many.......many years since I used a 201XT but I recall that the cable from the 201XT does not go to the 416XT box but instead goes directly to the LX200 control panel. I "vaguely" remember that it takes a crossover cable. If you use the wrong cable the DEC axis will run wild because you are powering a normally active-low pin with steady +5V. You should not harm the electronics as long as you don't swap cables when the 201XT or LX200 are powered up but """"CHECK THE MANUALS""" first to avoid damage.

Do you have the manuals? They have the pinout diagrams. I still have the manuals and can help if necessary.
