At what point?

These religion threads are getting tedious. Here's an attempt to change direction a bit with a philisophical question.

At what point should parents stop supporting their children financially?

Should parents pay for their kids' college? (mine didn't)

Should they pay for a car, gas and insurance? (mine didn't)

I'm curious about others' views on this because I have four kids in college and one in high school.

While the 7.2% GDP number announced yesterday follows the 4% quarter before, don't look for this good news to dampen the democrats' dire need for bad things to happen to the country. It may take an important element away from their nattering negativity, but it will only be a matter of days before you'll hear "Did YOUR GDP go up 7%?" Thus missing the point entirely.

It's too bad there are no new ideas out there. Or even old ideas that are better. The best thing that can happen to the democrats now is for the bungled situation in Iraq to get worse or for another major terrorist attack here at home. Unfortunately, that's not particularly good for the country either.

Partial birth abortion bill to be signed...

The new bill defines partial birth abortion as delivery of a fetus "until, in the case of a headfirst presentation, the entire fetal head is outside the body of the mother, or, in the case of the breech presentation, any part of the fetal trunk past the navel is outside the body of the mother for the purpose of performing an overt act that the person knows will kill the partially delivered living fetus."

The response...

"We won't stand by silently as this administration attempts to erode our rights," NOW President Kim Gandy said.
