If you are using telvues version of the eyeopener, then you will not be able to use it on the 8". At least on the old meade 8" OTA's, you could not remove the visual back.

I agree with taking one or two daytime shots at the beginning of the roll. Help to give the developers a refrence point. I also like to take a dark frame photo (putting the lens cap on and snapping off a pic) in the middle of the roll, just so they can see the difference.
I have had the same problems with some of the generic "1 hour" places. believe it or not, Ritz camera has done some good things with my photos. They laugh when I come in and say "Oh boy, now we have to really work!" Anyway, make sure you keep the negative that were not developed, so when you do find a developer that can handle your needs, you can have those processed as well. On a side not, have you thought of investing in a film/slide scanner?

The new ownership group ''lost that human touch,'' Rosenfield said. ``When you're selling merchandise, the most important thing you have is credibility with customers and resources. They started doing things that lost credibility.''

Among the companies interested in acquiring Tasco were Bushnell Corp. of Kansas and Meade Instruments of California, Rosenfield said. Gart added some of Tasco's suppliers expressed an interest in acquiring some of its assets.

Feltman was selected to oversee the sale of its assets, which include the company name, trademarks and intellectual property, according to Jerry Markowitz, a Miami lawyer representing Feltman. A similar proceeding was filed Tuesday in California for Celestron International, a telescope maker in which Tasco owns all the stock.

''There are a number of companies advised of the assignments who expressed serious interest in acquiring the companies,'' Markowitz said. ``We're reaching out to the people who have a continuing interest.''

Interesting Ron. I'll have to take a look. I pulled it up in "The Sky". I doesn't look like much, but it must have been bright to catch you attention. I noticed another grouping at the 1 to 2 oclock position that looks interesting as well. Use sao84221 as a starting point, the group of stars will be to the left.

Filters for galaxies? I personally have never heard of a filter that would work on galaxies. As for nebulas, go to cloudynights dot com and go to the accessories page. then go to the filters article...this should help you get started.

In the case where they were buying the ETX-125, I might tell them they are getting a good scope, but explain what they would realisticly be able to see. I did this for a gentleman at Costco who was buying one of the close out etx-60's. HE asked me if it was worth the $90 someodd dollars and I told him "yes, but...." . He bought it anyway but with a greater knowledge of what he would be able to see.
