Teton Telescope customer service

Oddly I have seen on several occasions in these forums where Mark tries to help inform a fellow amateur on a possible equipment choice such as a MN that they might otherwise not have considered only to be lambasted for shameless self promotion. I say good for him. If he is willing to take the time to respond to situations like yours or others of similar circumstance and he makes a profit in the process so be it. I never see him actually promote his business saying they should buy their Mak Newt from him. Other dealers could do the same if they had the desire to be as helpful as Mark rather than just being order takers. :S

It's not a myth

I had my Hardin 12" dob (solid metal white tube) standing in the corner of our dining room a while back. My wife had some of her friends over for a get together one evening. One of theme asked her why we had our water heater in the dining room. 8O

Backyard Scope with Backyard Included!

Just my luck, I hear about this after the sub-prime mortgage boom has gone bust. I could have picked up this little jewel at 4% with nothing down then defaulted on the loan and waited for the the government to swoop in and bail me out. cwy

iOptron MiniTower - looking for user experiences

Posted By Dan Lamoreaux

I just came across this thread after doing a google search on this mount. Ok, so it looks like there are some problems with this one. So can anyone offer an alternative. I need an alt/az goto mount that can handle a TEC 140. I basically hate GEMs. I won't go into all my complaints here, but it mainly has to do with the hassle of the constant releveling of binoviewers as the scope rotates during long observations. That is never a problem with alt/az scope mounts. There is also the issue of more radical changes in the eyepiece height slewing to various points from near the horizon to zenith with a GEM. Any ideas out there?

I seem to be out of the loop....

Posted By Dan Lamoreaux

Greg,

I believe back in Oct. it was announced that ATWB had sold Astromart and were now two separate entities hence the creation of Astromart LLC. I do not know who the investor or investors in the company are. ATWB is now required to pay Astromart the going rate for their ads just as any other full sponsor. Herb York in no longer the point of contact for problems related to ones Astromart account. That is about as much as I have been able to gather to this point. Hope this sheds a little light on the subject.

Teton Telescopes

Posted By Dan Lamoreaux

So it is time to ask once again what has happened to Teton Telescopes. WWW.Tetontelescopes.com is a dead link. I cannot find Teton or Mark listed in either the sponsors or supporters. Mark's last forum post was late last year. Floyd, I remember reading that he was going to shut down for a short period while he relocated to I believe Arizona as well. Mark, if you are still out there, let us know where.

Are there ongoing issues replying to ads?

I have now had a third person contact me via PM saying they replied to my ad, but I am not getting them.

David, If you can still contact the other person in the transaction, ask them to reply again to your old ad, provided you didn't delete it. This will then give you a new opportunity to leave a feedback rating for them.
