Replace Biden, Somehow

First, I don't have a party. Believe it or not, I have voted mostly Republican in my life-time. If anything, I'm an independent and progressive. Second, let's not quibble over your exact wording. Admitting that you would not object to the elimination of the Democrat party is doing nothing to garner you any moral high ground for presuming that others cannot live with the Republican party or a Republican president.

Political advisors don't hide their candidate months before the election (even accepting the Hiden Biden slam that meshes well with the accusations!) unless they are concerned.

I agree with Jim; there is no reason for Biden to overly vocal at this point. Trump and his misfits are doing an excellent job of sinking their ship. Take, for example, this activity by the DHS and CBP in Portland, where they are using federal agents decked out in military garb without any identifying insignia or names and unmarked vehicles to scoop people off of the streets. This activity is not only bad policy; it's seriously bad politics. There is no doubt that Trump's approval numbers nose-dived after his Lafayette Square debacle. It turns out that Americans aren't keen on their citizens being tear-gassed and having the military mobilized against them. How do you think they are going to react to this secret-police style of policy in Portland? When asked about it, Ken Cuccinelli, the head of DHS, made it clear they intend to continue and take the tactic nationwide. That's just brilliant.

The biggest problem Trump has is that he has effectively alienated everyone but his base, and there are not enough of them to get him elected.

So outside of myself and a couple others occasionally marveling at the depths of TDS displayed here the TDSphiles will have free reign lol

Too bad. He was so close to the 5,000 rants posted achievement too.

Sure, Biden looks and sounds fine on camera, but the political experts just don't want anybody to see that!  Especially with all the "Hiden Biden" talk!

Mel, Hiden Biden may be a popular catch-phrase on Fox News and in the right-wing fever swamp, but trust me, outside of that microcosm, no one believes that Biden is hiding in his basement. Similarly, I saw on Fox News this morning where they were pushing the narrative that America's major cities were on fire with violence and that if Biden is elected, Antifa will be in our suburbs with armed leftist gangs raping, robbing and pillaging with abandon. No one buys that right-wing propaganda, but the Fox News faithful. It is meant for their consumption.

Then you would be wrong because the Lafayette square fiasco was a pivotal point in the downward trend we have seen in Trump's polling numbers. This whole law-and-order bet of Trump's is falling flat, and so far is hurting him more than helping. The Lafayette square kerfuffle even prompted the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, to apologize for appearing in the photo op. He didn't realize what was going on when asked to join the event until it was too late and didn't fully understand the optics of his appearance until it was over. Yet he felt compelled to admit it was a mistake. Only a few legacy-defining moments have clung to Trump, despite his continuous stream of crises and controversies, such as Lafayette Square and the caging of immigrant children. Still, this latest abuse may likely be another.

It's likely just a timeout, but whatever it is, I wouldn't feel sorry for him. If anyone ever deserved to get sacked for their behavior on this forum, it is Rich. There are much worse examples of his worthiness, but one that I find particularly annoying is how he goads people in thread-titles by posting their names. It's childish bullying.

It should have been a clue for him to maybe lighten up a bit, but like his hero in the WH he thinks that would be a sign of weakness. As for me, I'm glad he doesn't think of me as a friend, the feeling has been mutual for a while now, ever since he threatened to come to Michigan and beat me up. But, believe me when I say I wish I could attend a star party with the rest of you knuckleheads.  grin

There is only one person I have ever met on this forum I never want to meet in person.

My wife and I are going to drive North this evening and get out of the city to see the comet. I'm looking forward to it.

I'll get right on that, and include a fly-by of the ISS as well!

Haha, yeah not that far North!

We didn't get fancy. I just took the Canon 10x30 IS binos, and the Nikon D700 and a fixed telephoto lens. Too long really, 300 mm f/2.8 but it's all I had that was low f/ratio.

300mm, f/2.8, ISO1600, 2s; no darks, no stacking, no processing. Definitely some star-trailing, but good enough for a composite.
