Our Conservative Party leader Pierre Pollievre was also caught red-handed in a lie over the same early jump to conclusions. When called on it he launched a diatribe against the Canadian Press and their reporter (who had asked the question in a scrum) about their 'unfair and biased' reporting. Then our CTV network published the timeline of the comments. Fox aired it and 15 minutes later Pierre parroted it in the House. "Terrorist Attack! Waaaa! Trudeau's immigration policy! Waaaaa!" Well, to be fair to Rich, even though he doesn't deserve it, Faux news originally ran the terrorist story, then the right wing nutjobs like Kari Lake and Vivek Ramaswamy ran with it and and reposted it. Faux eventually deleted the story but didn't retract or apologize for it and the others let it fly so millions still believe it even though it was known fairly early on the it was an accident.
