I voted

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

I voted early and I'm glad I did. In and out in 5 minutes.

I'm getting ready to go on my first deer hunt. I plan to surprise a magnificent animal, shoot it until it is dead, drain it's blood, chop off it's head, strip off it's skin, rip out its innards, cut and saw it's carcass into pieces, cook it and eat it.

Now I'm getting this powerful urge to vote Republican ...

I'm relieved I voted for Barack Obama early.

Was America pushed?

Prices dropped so far and fast that it makes me believe that oil speculation was responsible for at least a third of the oil price spike. Hopefully some of these speculators were left holding the bag.

Illinois Governor Arrested

This is the worst abuse of power for money I've seen. I hope he never gets out of jail.

Re: Kennedy..."You know"

I have hope for Obama, but he does have a bunch of crooks on both sides of the aisle to contend with.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from your arch therapist. wink

In college I had a professor who claimed that our government would work just as well if not better is everyone's name was put in a hat and we had a drawing for each elected office. Given the bunch we have in Washington, I tend to agree with him.

Here we go again, making race an issue when it clearly is not. This guy cheapens the memories of all those who were subjected to racist, white pointed hats.

It's not too bad coming from a former Black Panther. wink

He does have a point when he says "I will ask you to not hang and lynch the appointee as you try to castigate the appointer. Separate, if you will, the appointee from the appointed,". Burris actually seems to be a very good choice.

Good article on crime rates by race

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

A good article? This is nothing but a long biased whine. The articles it refers to claim that crime among blacks is high and offers ways to help correct the situation. The "good article" you are talking about just complains about every proposal, blames blacks for all the problems they face, and offers no solutions.

The implied solution is to beef up the police and throw them all in jail at $50,000 a year. Not exactly a "good article" in my opinion.
