New Binoc?

Posted By Brian Goodman

Contacted Kevin, and yes he is getting that Binocular is stock. Maybe next week. 18mm of eye relief in a 25x100 Binocular. That's pretty good, if accurate. I believe that the Celestrons and apogee's are 14 or 15mm. Hopefully no cutoff with the prisms. These big cheap 100mm Binocs are like big cheap Dobs; alot of bang for the buck. I basically love my 22x100's, and consider them to be a great value. Somewhat comparable to my 8" SCT with the Binoviewer, but with a whole different view. Not to mention, mounted on a heavy duty Unimount and with a recliner and a heavy blanket, it's very relaxing and a great winter setup.

Pentax 20x60 PCF V

I had a pair of those a couple years ago. They were definitely sharper and more pleasing than the Orion 20x80 megaviews that I also had at the time. The FOV was a little narrow. Very good edge performance. Very little flaring. I liked em, but found them to be aperture limited. Certainly needed to be mounted to get the most out of 20x. One day they got knocked off my deck and fell about 20 feet to the hard ground below and got knocked way out of collimation. I actually believe that I may still have them stashed somewhere. I replaced them with Fuji's and really didn't look back. I sure never thought that I would read that you traded eyepieces for Binos!. Enjoy...
