Yes. It is the North American bicycle eating snake. (large variety). This is why you see so many bikes riding out in the traffic instead of on the bike trails.

The 10X30 is probably the best choice for the multiple uses you described. The larger binoculars may be better for night sky viewing in a recliner but they are heavier. If you are actually getting on the water the image stabilization is invaluable and a non IS cannot compete with it. I own a 10X30 and have looked through the bigger ones. The 10X30 compares favorably and is quite a bit lighter which allows you to hold the binocular to your eyes longer. Tracking the space station is a good example.

I just tried this and it works great with my C-8. I was slightly off and it was easy to bring it in up to and over 500x. No seeing or cooldown issues when doing it inside in the daytime. Can't wait to try the scope on Jupiter now. Great idea. Checked my diagonals too while I was at it.

What is the advantage of the shorter lens? Other than the 10mm on the bottom is it faster? Lighter?
