I agree with everything you've written.
In addition the debate did do one thing: it united most of America in agreeing that there was no winner. It was terrible on both sides, but for different reasons.
Biden occasionally looked like an old man trying his best to keep up and answer serious questions but was often interrupted by Trump. The sarcastic interruptions killed Trump. He should have used the time to pound home the superiority of his arguments, but he did not. And DJT's lame and lukewarm denouncement of white supremacy did not help the cause, either.
I thought 2016 had the weakest candidates in my memory in Trump v. Clinton. But 2020 has surpassed that. In Trump v. Biden we have a sitting president who seems to have no moral compass and a challenger who has passed his prime and routinely exhibits early signs of dementia.
I read somewhere - probably the WSJ that Biden intends to be a 1-term president. In 2024 it will be a compelling matchup between Nickie Haley and Kamala Harris, with Haley being the winner.
I am generally conservative and in this round I'll vote Trump because of: (1) the judicial appointments, not simply the SCOTUS, but the undercard of judges who sit on the federal district and appellate courts; (2) My disdain for Obama Care; (3) And the loosening of regulations that make it hard for small business to operate; (4) The need to get tough with China on virtually all aspects of its sovereignty.
It was sorta comical how Trump got Biden to renig on the Bernie Sanders promises. And when Biden declared he "is the party." Oh, if that were only true...
