5D long exposure noise problem(?)

Drew, can you post a pic of a dark? I'm curious to see what it looks like.

Canon is usually not responsive to that- My previous 20D had noise issue, they said too bad, it's not meant for that kind of exposures. The dealer reluctantly took it back and exchanged a new one (it was only a week old then).

Televue 60

It's one of my favorite scopes.

Optics are impeccable- you'll be amazed. Takes magnification. With 3mm Televue Radian no signs of breakdown. Saturn is small but crystal clear. Can't say the same for many overseas scopes in this range. It's a great travel scope for me, very very compact.

But....it is a 60mm. So things are dim. The IS version is for astrophotography. The regular 60mm is for visual use- too much curvature for astrophotography. OK for birds and flowers though.

Hi Michael, what kind of mount do you intend to use? The mount is very very important in astrophotography, much more so then the scope typically.

EM-200 + C-11

My personal experience with the EM-200 and the C9.25": if things are perfectly stable, you are ok. If any wind blows, it is inadequate. So the C-11 I imagine would be on the inadequate side. You will be much happier with an NJP or G-11 or A-P 900.
