I know how it is with New Year's Resolutions...Posted By David Cotterell |
"So this new regulation is for entry to Canada. But in order to enter Canada these truckers would have to get into the USA first."
I'm not a very clear writer sometimes.
I'll try again.
The new Canadian rule is that everyone entering Canada at land border crossings unvaxxed has to quarantine for 14 days, no option. Canadian truckers who stay in Canada are unaffected by this rule. They can drive from coast to coast unvaxxed. Just as the Convoy has done.
The only way that the new regulation (which is what started this whole thing) about quarantine could affect these truckers if they were to try to enter Canada. In order to enter Canada one would have to NOT be in Canada which, for a trucker, means they would have to drive their truck into the USA first.
As you correctly point out, none of them are doing that. Unvaxxed people cannot go into the USA by land. Thus they all stay in Canada and the new quarantine rule is completely moot. Which renders the reason for the protest a non-issue.
And I stand corrected - not your link to the Wiki article - it was Greg's. I owe you a beer.
