Does anyone think it might help the discussions here if we could picture the various contributors, flamers, arguers, athiests, agnostics, fundamentalists, the damned, the saved, the ignorant and the unblemished...

in our minds when we post?

Should we post our photos - like in the Me and My Telescope section? How about "Me and My Belief System"?

"European ideals" ??? What the heck is that???

Don't agree with the "European" tag. Too much diversity in culture - historically going back at least 2000 years - for there to be anything that is pan-European.

If by "European ideals" we mean aspirations to socialism - well then they ought to be intimidated by us. That's a failed system everywhere it has been attempted, in any version, in the last 100 years.

Aspirations to socialism, as demonstrated by our very own liberal movement in the US, is a fundamental threat to individual liberties. Obviously that is why the movement in the US hasn't got legs any more.

Wow - this impeachment thing is almost as virulent as the creationism thing.

Here's something to ponder as we demonize our respective political opponents...

In the nearly 100 years he has been in the entertainment business have you ever seen anyone even come close to having anything bad to say about Bob Hope - professionally or personally?

I didn't think he was 'that' funny - but basically was a class act. Probably his greatest folly was having the Village People sing YMCA on one of his specials!

Amazing how someone can go his whole life in that industry and not get trashed for something. He must be a great guy.

If the 'poor people' didn't want to shell out $30 for a ticket and $5 for a hot dog - they'd stay home. This is a supply and demand deal. The bleachers in Wrigley field will alsways be full, win or lose, $5 or $50.

Besides, the issue was one of morality - lying - the topic wouldn't fit in the Siebert forum.
