Funny but sad...

Posted By Mike Strieber

Funny video from Leno. WARNING: At 20 seconds the video switches to the hosts of Fox and Friends so if you're like me vomiting spells begin immediately. No need to watch beyond the 20 second point unless of course you're a glutton for punishment.

I hope we don't have another...

...shady politician in some fashion connected to Obama. BO certainly has an uncanny ability to surround himself with some questionable characters. It's a good thing he's naive and ignorant to it all as otherwise he surely wouldn't be able to sleep at night. At this rate he's on a pace to trump even Bill Clinton.

I feel confident in saying that if the timing was right he would have picked Al Capone as his running mate. :S

Wrong Emanuel...

Why do I have a sneaky suspicion ole' Rahm will never see the Oval Office?

http://www.suntimes.com/news/sneed/1333057,CST-NWS-SNEED16.article

The "Sun-Times" might be a tabloid for all I know but even before this I had a feeling Rahm might be involved with this in some fashion unbecoming of the new Obama administration. I guess we'll see. Regardless, this whole story is not a healthy distracter for Obama. Kind of an inauspicious start.

Obama and space...a good sign...

Posted By Mike Strieber

Obama is considering speeding up a manned mission to the moon by using military hardware. I like this thinking; we could use a noble national goal to rally the nation. Certainly expensive and a lot of people will gripe, but even the gripers will be riveted to the tube watching a man climb down a "LEM" ladder. Besides, we can always waterboard those in opposition. grin

Detached Prom

Posted By Mike Strieber

Beautiful day in Vegas. In the 60s with 4/5 seeing. There's also some nice activity on the Sun with a couple small ARs and a rather large prom.

Caroline Kennedy

"Housekeeper and Taxes Are Said to Derail Kennedy’s Bid"
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/23/nyregion/23caroline.html?_r=2&hp

Clearly it was the "housekeeper" issue that caused her to retract her name from the selection process as the precedence has already been set that paying your taxes at ones convenience is fine for Democratic appointees. wink

Obama may not have preconditions...

Posted By Mike Strieber

...but it appears Ahmadinejad may have a few:

"We welcome change but on condition that change is fundamental and on the right track..."

"...they should apologize to the Iranian nation and try to make up for their dark background and the crimes they have committed against the Iranian nation..."
"...it means they would end America's military presence around the world."
"...an apology for past "crimes" against Tehran."
As for Israel: "...giving up support for the rootless, uncivilized, fabricated, murdering ... Zionists and letting the Palestinian nation decide its own destiny."

This will certainly make for some interesting television when President Obama sits down with him.

Obama's Super Bowl Interview

Posted By Mike Strieber

Kind of refreshing to see a president who can actually get his point across well isn't it? If only Nancy Porklosi would get out of the way and let him lead he might actually get something done. Saying that, I don't think we've heard the end of him calling Jessica Simpson fat. grin

Rendition

Posted By Mike Strieber

I guess closing GITMO is a moot point when you sign an executive order allowing for rendition...

http://www.latimes.com/news/la-na-rendition1-2009feb01,0,7548176,full.story

"...Obama administration appears to have determined that the rendition program was one component of the Bush administration's war on terrorism that it could not afford to discard."

When do the calls for war crimes trials begin for Obama? We don't tortue but we'll allow others to do it in our name?

Liberals will love this...

Sean Hannity is asking for "honesty and straight talk" from the president. :S Yeah, I know. grin

On a related note. I certainly lean conservative but my goodness has Fox News gone off the deep end of late (I know, most of you would claim they already did)? The other day on their webpage they had three of the biggest pictures I've ever seen on their webpage. Who were they? The three Republicans who favor the stimulus bill. The title, with equally large billing...."DEFECTORS". Nothing like making sure the conservative voting public is clear on who supported it. Fair and balanced? You decide. As bad as they were in the past they have definitely turned a new page since the election. Dropping the patsy Alan Colmes and adding Glenn Beck to the line-up is a clear sign of where they are going. I actually had "some" respect for Beck until the other day he suggested Mexico's economy is about to collapse and if ours gets any worse, Mexico will invade us. Not with illegals but their National Army! He's lost it also. Nothing like a guy screaming at you for an hour that Armageddon is upon us (from socialism, invading armies, etc). If I want to watch a screaming lunatic lecture me I'll tune in Olbermann. Fox is quickly catching up with MSNBC when it comes to becoming a tabloid-esque "news" channel. They were pretty bad before but...

Is it just me that noticed this?

Oh, and thank goodness they gave Huckabee his own show. Now that's entertainment, or news, or...?
