Smart political move. Very Clintonesque. Remember when Clinton (falsely) claimed the era of big government was over?

Another independant on the fence...Ron Paul 2012?

IF Ron Paul gets the nomination...I could and may vote for him...would you?

No way. I am for bringing troops home but the degree to which Paul would isolate us from the rest of the world is truly frightening. On foreign policy even Obama is better than he is.

I Have A Dream

The speech is about 15 minutes long. Actually well worth listening to in it's entirety. There is nothing in it that should offend any true conservative. smile

Liberals today think people need hand-outs or special advantages to achieve the American dream while in fact King just wanted an equal playing field.

Newtists Prevail in SC

Rod Kaufman said:

CNN has already projected Newt as the winner with Romney and Santorum battling for second place.
The GOP just digs itself deeper...

Shouldn't you have been watching MSNBC?

Prediction: Florida?

Posted By Patrick Keafer

Who knows?

It is so ridiculous that SC voted for Newt by such a large margin based on the same old conservative Newt debate trick (attack the media) that I'm considering not paying attention to the process anymore. This field is such a joke and process is extremely frustrating. It is like watching a train wreck.

And add to the deficit...

Rod, maybe you are attacking Romney because he is the most electable but I am kind of miffed why you hate him so much. He's the most moderate of the remaining candidates and the most civil. Shouldn't you be attacking Newt?

Tony,

I disagree. NO ONE is suggesting we take apart the safety net. What conservatives want is to stop the transformation of entitlements from safety net to "crutch". As my friend Greg Gutfeld says, Romney will turn the safety nets into safety trampolines!

Whichever it is I hope we stay out of any military strikes if it comes to that. We should make the Euro's or Israeli's take the lead.

Planetary Society response to the NASA budget

Maurice Clark said:

Hi All,

Here is the response from the Planetary Society to the decision to drastically cut the NASA budget for planetary science.

http://www.planetary.org/about/press/releases/2012/0213_NASA_Budget_Pushes_Science_to_the_Brink.html

This is the worst attack on NASA planetary science since the Reagen years. If implimented, it will be a disaster for planetary exploration. Time to contact your congress critter if you are interested in science and planetary exploration.

Maurice

Unfortunately we don't have the money so I will not ask my Congressman to restore funding. In fact I'll be asking them to cut more in other areas of government. The budget the President released today was a joke and an embarrassment. The money we could use for NASA was spent elsewhere. While I support full NASA funding, we shouldn't be maintaining the status quo on any agencies budget until we are running surpluses. All these social programs and foreign wars are great BUT THEY COME AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHER THINGS.

NYPD Monitoring MSAs

Does this necessarily infringe on civil rights if the NYPD monitors any group?

Don't police forces monitor specific groups such as gangs?
And if one group has a higher incidence of terrorist related activities, wouldn't such monitoring be prudent? Or, is this an example of a police state in action?

Of course it violates their civil rights. Welcome to the world under a leftist big government President.
