Help?

Posted By Forrest Heinle

Sorry Mike....cruise control saves too much gas. As an evil, environmentally unfriendly conservative, i must insist that you leave it broken so as to pump as much pollution into the air as possible.

If you MUST have it fixed, then you should file the request to the proper department, in triplicate, and wait 6 months for processing before having the wrong part ordered. If that's not acceptable...file a complaint, once again in triplicate, to receive the correct part. If you need that part installed then you need to fill out another form for that.

Cash for Clunkers?

Posted By Forrest Heinle

This looks good, but for a lot of us it's absolutely worthless. Why? Well.... unfortunately the fine print hidden down near the bottom of the article shows that you're really only going to be able to use this on an econobox purchase. Pickup trucks that get over 24MPG? Only if you want it to be a small one with a tiny engine, no full size gets that kind of mileage. Or.... it has to get over 25% better fuel economy then the current federal standard? Straight to 4 cylinder hell for you, my friend!

Yes, i'd much rather drive what i want and pollute the environment. So shoot me.

Rush Goes Bonkers

Posted By Forrest Heinle

Sounds about right for Rush. Over the top, but he usually is. I found it amusing, those on the left will froth at the mouth over it, while ignoring those on their own side that say the same, or even worse, things. I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

I thought that's what I heard...

Don't worry, Mike...it's only for "that region". We're all good.

I'm sure he understands the difference between privacy and piracy....just like i'm positive he knows how many states there are. He's visited 57 of them, after all.

Now we are talking....

Last time i checked, the complaint was that he was doing all the wrong things and it was going to hurt in the long run, not that he was doing nothing at all. Could you point me to someone that says he was doing nothing?

FBI Agent: Enhanced Techniques Worthless

Posted By Forrest Heinle

While i find this compelling, i do have to question the man's motives. Anyone that writes Op-Ed pieces for the New York Times tends to be on my "I don't think i should believe them" list. That doesn't mean he's a lier, only that i'm skeptical.

As to the article itself, i find the last few paragraphs the most telling. As per usual, a liberal Democrat comparing what was done to something exceedingly more egregious for no other reason than to grand stand before the media. This man is a prime example of why i can't stand most politicians, R or D.

Ah Joe, come on...

Posted By Forrest Heinle

Newsflash!

"This was just released by the White House press office: Joe Biden has had a frightful accident requiring his mouth to be permanently wired shut for the next 3 1/2 years with a chance that the condition may continue for another 4 there after. In related news, press secretary Robert Gibbs has just announced that he sees his future workload dropping by at least 60%. We will continue to follow this story as further details emerge."

Uh huh. Uh huh.

Wow, if this plays out it could be huge. It would be a prime example of EXACTLY why the government should NEVER have it's hands in a private enterprise because the temptation is simply to great for any mere mortal politician to resist.

That doesn't mean this is actually what's happening, but it shows why they should always just stay out.

I had heard that they were going to use this as a chance to remove "problem" dealerships that tended to be a pain in Chrysler's backside, profitable or not. If that's the case, i would be okay with it. It's Chrysler's choice to kick the bad boys out of the pool. If they're kicking people out simply because someone is whispering in their ear to do so, and that someone is the US government and is backing it with all sorts of insinuated threats, then we have a big problem.

As much as i would like to see Obama crash and burn, i really hope this isn't true. I would like to think that for once, our government can be honest and run something right, instead of dousing it with gasoline, flicking the match, and then watching it burn while shouting "There is no fire! Do not be afraid!"

Cheney Cashes In

Posted By Forrest Heinle

What other comments would you expect? It's CNN, so of course you'll find mostly liberals and few conservatives.

That being said, i can't say i'm surprised, everyone likes to ink a good book deal after being in office. That's no different then Clinton or Obama. Unless you want to demonize them too?..... Yeah, didn't think so.

BTW, i like the Darth statement. Darth Cheney. It suits him well. Too bad he didn't use a few force chokes on Pelosi, Reid and a few others, but i digress.

Democrats are crooks...

Posted By Forrest Heinle

I'll sidestep the one represents all bit but i do find it very interesting that this story NEVER got ANY play with the MSM, even though you KNOW that if a Republican were in his position they would have been headlined for days.

Both parties have copious amounts of corruption. Espousing that your side is better simply because you agree with the ideals they parrot while dismissing their shortfalls shows the same level of reasoning that one would normally find in a brick. As my high school shop teacher was so fond of stating... "Boy, you don't know your head from a hot rock."
