Why doesn't Obama say, "Stop it." Why does the newscaster say, "We know the TSA is doing the best they can." People in favor of this know it is stupid, don't they? It's a good thing she ran her fingers through the little girl's hair. You can't be too careful.

This is a little like Obama saying raising the capital gains tax might not bring in more money to the treasury but it is a matter of fairness. Maddening.

The Senate voted 100-0 (Mendes-Kirk) to sanction Iran's Central Bank. Obama doesn't like it. Long view-it puts a lot of pressure on Iran. Short view-could raise oil and damage Obama's re-election. Obama chooses short view.

Anybody disagree with Victor Davis Hansen's comments on CA? I'll summarize:

10% income tax, 10% state and local taxes, and the highest gas tax in the country and on a recent science test for public schools CA scored 47th in the nation.

The 1% have been leaving and the number of those receiving housing, food, medical, education,and legal support is soaring. Of the last 10 million added to the population, 7 million are on Medicaid.

Add fleeing entrepreneurs, illegal influxes of foreign nationals and record public salaries and unfunded pensions.


1. A user tax on the 10 to 15 billion remitted to foreign countries or make foreign cash remittances grounds for disqualification from state public assistance.

2. Cancel high speed rail.

3. Open up on-shore horizontal drilling.

4. Cap pensions or multiple pensions at $100,000.

5 Eliminate 3/4 of public CA board members who are mostly insider politicians.

6. One official language for publications and office business.

7. Cut by 75% the number of administrators at the UC and CSU systems (up 212% since 1993) and pay them at 12 month faculty rate.

8. Deport the 20,000 plus illegal-alien felons in state prisons.

He is different than Romney. How many independents want to hear this speech?

How can people be so swept away by a politician's speech? The audience has the expressions I have seen on the faces of Jehovah Witnesses during the best moments of an assembly of 5,000 people. It didn't matter what he was saying.
