Health care in the USAPosted By Paul McCarty |
I know lots of Balkan conflict vets and contractors. They spent a lot of time in Europe, in many cases years. They all say the same thing about the healthcare over there. People don't seem to worry about it, and everyone can get care if they need it, in most places. You would never see jars for the 10 year old cancer patient over there.
Nor is their medical care system profit driven.
Another fact... In most European countries if you call for an ambulance, you get an ambulance staffed with a doctor and 2 to 3 nurses. In this country you get an ambulance with 2 minimum wage EMT's or a paramedic who makes 1 dollar an hour more, or you get volunteers who may or may not be an EMT. Where do you think the cutting edge EMS care is being provided. Not in this country!
If the public understood the depth of this issue they would not be griping about all the deflective stupid issues out there. They are getting royally shafted and many are actually fighting to keep it that way.
I actually work providing EMS care, so I have a very different look on it than a lay person.
