My 15 Panoptic gave great images last evening on my 10" f/6 dob. But, now that I think about it, the 10mm Speers-Waler and the 7mm Seibert gave great images also.

Chiefland Last Night

I just got home from last night's trip to Chiefland. Couldn't stay longer but the one night was fantastic. About 9:30 PM EST there was a cloud due south about 40* up. At first it looked like the small Magelanic Cloud, but wrong hemisphere! Shortly you could see it was expanding and getting thinner. It looked real spooky through the 15x70's ! Anybody else see it?
The skies were really dark but the blasted dew came in with a vengence about 11:00 PM so I had to pack it in, as I don't have dew heaters! YET! That problem starts getting tackled tomorrow. (Gotta get some sleep now!)

I just bought a new film scanner so tried this recent astrophoto shot with a 350mm lens on E200 slide film. Pretty light polluted here so only a 10 minute exposure, maybe a little less.

Jupiter Last Evening

Did anyone see the "extra" moon last night next to Jupiter? Pretty faint, probably 8 or 9, but right in the plane of the other moons. I only had about 30 minutes of observing before the clouds moved in.
