Two tiny active regions were present in the Sun today. Not really exciting but a wonderful test of the Atik cam. More info at:

Jupiter 1/10 - My best so far this season

Posted By Christopher Go

Hello Gang,

Here's my first Jupiter image for the year and the best for the season!

Many interesting features in Jupiter today. There is a white spot at the GRS. Note the small ovals at the STB. There is a huge rift at the NEB and a big blue barge at the EB. There is also an interesting dark round feature at the NTB on the lower left hand side. The Oval BA is on the far left side of the NTB. Lastly Io shadow is eclipsing the NEB rift!

Jupiter 01/14/05 (Registax V2 vs V3)!!!

Posted By Christopher Go

Hello,

Here's my latest image of Jupiter with the GRS setting. Lots of action in the Jovian disk! The widening and reddening of the NEB continues. The SEB is filled with rifts following the GRS.

Seeing wasn't that great tonight that is why the image is a little soft. I estimate seeing to be around 6/10. Taken with my trusty Celestron C8.

Below is the V2 image

Chris

A Tribute to David Lunt

Posted By Christopher Go

Here's an image of a small C Class Flare and a Big prom taken 3 hours before David Lunt, the founder of Coronado passed away. David, thanks for changing the way we view the sun and making HAlpha within the reach for all of us. And condolence to the wonderful people at Coronado especially Gerry and Nick.
