2013 President Poll

Posted By Mike Strieber

Romney/ and some obscure VP choice, not someone running now. I like Perry but I don't think he can win. He's clearly the biggest threat in the eyes of the left with all the attention they are paying him. He'll take the media fire as the extremist/racist/teabagger/lunatic/secessionist/fundie/Bush twin and Romney will stay under the radar. It's too bad, I think Perry would make a good president. If Romney doesn't win it will be because Obama did, it won't be one of the other republican candidates. There are still a lot ideological obamabots out there who don't see this man as the utter failure that he is. The Obama Downgrade should be enough, never mind all the disasterous policies he advocates, but libs just hate conservatives too much and they'll vote out of fear. Fear instilled in them by the media and fueled by their ignorance.

Oil/Gas Prices Falling: Blame Bachmann?

Posted By Mike Strieber

Rod Kaufman said:

When gasoline prices were up around $4.00+ during the Dubya years, conservative posters in this forum defended the profits being reaped by the oil companies as a good thing because they reasoned that people had their 401ks invested in oil stocks. (How they knew what stocks people had their 401ks invested in remains a bit of a mystery but for the sake of argument, let's assume it to be true). However, a funny thing happened when Obama became president and oil and gas prices spiked and oil company profits once again skyrocketed. Some of these same conservative posters either remained silent on how beneficial it is to have higher oil prices and therefore higher gasoline prices and subsequent higher profits for the oil companies and their investors. Instead, they whinned and complained about the high prices of oil and gas and blamed Obama for it!
But given our understanding of the market system, the conservative posters in the Bush years were evidently correct: higher oil prices= higher gas prices=higher oil company profits=higher profits for investors.
So now who's fault is it for faliing oil prices and falling gasoline prices?
Is it:
a. Obama? How could it be his fault when he caused them to go up? I guess we gotta eliminate him.
b. Bachmann? Well, I gotta admit, she scares me and she's threatened to take us back to the days of gasoline prices under $2.00/gallon.
c. Speculators? Naw, they're always driving gas prices in one direction: up!
d. Market forces? Hmm, now there's a thought:

I don't know, Bachmman stiill scares the BGs out of me just about everytime I see or hear her speak...

No different than liberals blaming Bush for high gas prices but under Obama gas prices are out of his control.

OWS vs. Tea Party Checklist

Posted By Mike Strieber

I love how the left blames these illegal activities, violence, and arrests on "republican plants". If you ever monitor the left's websites you'll see they have convinced themselves that the over 4000 arrests at OWS events around the country are of the "plants". That's a lot of plants! Especially considering the all these so called "plants" actually have real jobs to attend to and don't have time to sit around in tents and bonfires singing kumbaya.

Libville is a strange place to say the least. I can't imagine living there.

Rick Santorum?

Posted By Mike Strieber

Santorum won't last. He was just the last anti-Romney they could turn to before the caucus. Timing was right for him, no time to scrutinize him before last night. He'll fade like the others.

Romney is the guy, maybe not ideal but I believe the only guy who can beat Obama. I like W.F. Buckley's rule; vote for the most conservative guy....who can win. Romney has flaws but unless something really strange happens, we know about all of them and he is polished on responding to them. Once the field reduces even further his numbers will go up. It really is somewhat limited what Obama can attack him on; certainly not on healthcare; not on economic experience; not on being far-right; not on being a Mormon (Obama being a secret muslim and all smile ); ...etc. I happen to believe he's the right guy at the right time anyway. I'm all in.

That's my two cents, which leaves me three of the five cents the Romney campaign paid me to post this.

BTW, when do the dems settle on a viable candidate to run against Romney?
