$150,000 olive...

Posted By Mike Strieber

In honor of Kucinich there's a revamped sandwich menu at the Capital building snack bar...

The Obama Surprise: Some days it’s all baloney and no bread. Other days it’s de-boned and spineless chicken on rye (You never really know what you’ll get. That’s why it’s called a surprise.)

The Harry Reid: Cold, aged beef with no seasoning on white bread.

The Ed Schultz: Beef tongue with an extra serving of fat. Always served hot.

The Keith Olbermann: This item has been removed from the menu.

The Joe Biden: This is a huge f’ing sandwich. It contains a lot of f’ing pork. It’s a f’ing fork-ready project. (NOTE: The Joe Biden Combo comes one fry short of a happy meal.)

The Nancy Pelosi: Cold, crusty chicken, hold the pickle, on old rye.

The Helen Thomas: Non-Kosher meats and cheeses that have been aged beyond recognition. It’s all served on Halal-friendly breads (all profits from this sandwich will be donated back to Palestinian freedom fighters seeking the destruction of Israel a peaceful two-state alternative.

The Tim Geitner: Lean, greasy turkey. Tax-free through April 15.

The Michelle Obama: You don’t order the Michelle Obama. The Michelle Obama orders you!

The Al Sharpton: A delightful low carb alternative featuring turkey wrapped in a thin skin of pure cheese.

The Ben Nelson: Sorry, ladies and gentlemen, The Ben Nelson has sold out.

The Ted Kennedy: Dry, aged liver patty. Ask for the Kennedy Combo and get a free Bloody Mary.

At least he was trolling for women

With all the liberal bashing here lately if this guy was a democrat the thread would be over a page long by now.

Must not be the sharpest tack in the box. Craigslist? And he thinks no one will recognize him? Family values?

I'm sure you all think it's no big deal, as long as it's not criminal and as long as he didn't lie about it or something. I'm sure his wife and kids were considered while he was taking the pictures.

I'm an equal opportunity basher, he's a scumbag. Actually it looks to me like he belongs on Senator Craigs-list.

Our gov was determined to save us from that corporation Toyota. Even got the execs and took turns dragging them through the mud. Stop driving those cars. Bring them in for repairs. The best engineers found nothing. It was all BS.

New twist on conspiracy theories. The government both created a myth and debunked it. Now that's effeciency.

That's why I still drive my Ford Pinto. wink

Herman Cain for President?

I am easily fooled. For about a year around 1998 I was foolish enough to think that John McCain would make a good president, but then learned enough about him to change my mind.

Perhaps the same could happen learning more about Herman Cain, but I've heard him sub for Neal Boortz on the radio and read some of his writing. At the moment I like the fellow.

He is quick enough of wit to easily debate the other repub candidates or Obama. Most of his political positions of which I'm aware, I like. Perhaps he is not smarmy enough to be a successful politician? Perhaps he would be viewed at too radical by too many voters?

Herman Cain is great! I love the guy. I've seen him a number of times but have yet to see him speak on foreign policy so would like to hear his take there. But I do like his domestic policy thinking, his demeanor, and the way he carries himself. A super sharp guy with a wealth of experience behind him. Unfortunately he's being treated in the usual way the left treats black conservatives. The left has already labeled him a "monkey" and Uncle Tom.

http://blogs.alternet.org/speakeasy/2011/02/12/black-history-month-is-herman-cain-playing-the-race-minstrel-for-cpac/

"As you know, I find black garbage pail kids black conservatives fascinating not because of what they believe, but rather because of how they entertain and perform for their White Conservative masters."

"We always need a monkey in the window, for he/she reminds us of our humanity while simultaneously reinforcing a sense of our own superiority."

Reminds me of the way liberals treat conservative women. Everyone is equal, unless of course they don't toe the liberal line.

Go Herman!!

NPR Funding about to be axed

Posted By Mike Strieber

Doug Matulis said:

Now here is a worthwhile cut, NPR. The government should not be funding a biased and partisan media outlet. It is basically propaganda broadcasting for the liberals in Washington. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting and PBS TV stations should be included as well if not already. Hope the NEA is next!

If in fact NPR's funding is cut it will be a political victory not a budgetary one. Their funding is in the noise when compared to the overall budget and debt. It's unfortunate, but the Republican budget proposal, and more specifically proposed cuts, are more politically driven than anything else. Saying that, we need to make drastic cuts, no doubt. But clearly what was targeted left no doubt who proposed the cuts...NPR, Planned Parenthood, etc., all while oil companies continue to earn billions everyday, in essence tax free.

With the signing of the CR the other day the budget was cut by $6 billion that day alone!!! That's great news. It's really unfortunate the debt grew by over $70 billion the same day...alone. Regardless of the party, politics is an equal opportunity employer in that they accept scumbags regardless of race, religion, or gender. In fact I believe it's a prerequisite.

While it appears the common thread here is that most believe we certainly shouldn't be engaging in yet another war. I agree with that, however... those involved with the no-fly zone enforcement will apprepreciate the fact the US joined the coalition. There may be a time in the near future we would like to have our partners return the favor; maybe it's Iran, maybe North Korea, who knows. Some of these same countries don't play nice when we ask for "coalition" support, showing that we do, even when it might not be in our best interest, might play out well for us when we really do need them. I personally don't think we should be bombing Libya like we are, let the Europeans take care of it (ideally with Arab partners), but there are some benefits to it...besides the most important one; saving lives.

Besides that, nobody does "no-fly zones" like the good ole' US. It's no wonder they come to us, like going to Michael Jordan when you need a basketball player; or going to NASA when you need to get a rover to Mars; or even like going to Fox when you need fair and balanced news. wink

F-15 down in Libya

Posted By Mike Strieber

...of the plane they claim to have shot down, and of course the heroic defenders who shot it down. Stunning images but I'm not sure they're accurate. I think there might be a little propaganda hanky-panky going on here. I can't confirm that though.

Two guys with bunker issues...

Posted By Mike Strieber

Ed Schultz just said on the radio that Obama's war in Libya is turning out to be the most successful military operation in the history of the United States. I'm dead serious, he said that. I wonder if he would have phrased it that way if it was Bush conducting this war? Like I said, liberals hate war unless they can call it their own. Watching MSNBC trying to rationalize this war to their viewers is entertainment gold. I have to say, even the hardcore liberal MSNBC viewers aren't buying it. Watching Rachel Maddow apologize on behalf of Obama for an hour the other night was some interesting television to say the least. Miss "Anti-War" herself promoting this war so she can continue to shill for Obama has to be killing her. At this point it is clear, MSNBC has no integrity what-so-ever. There is no doubt they would support Obama if he starting nuking whales tomorrow.
