Unbelievable ignorance !!!

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

I make no attempt to hide the fact that I have no use whatsoever for Bu$h. My post just points out one more reason.

Do you think the timing of this announcement is good? Could it not have been made weeks (or months) in the future after the situation in Iraq has had some time to stabilize?

>>> IMHO the decision about the West Bank that you have pointed out does not indicate a "major policy shift."

It has been UN and US policy since the territories were occupied in 1967 that this land did not belong to Israel. Every President since that time has pressed Israel not to build settlements in occupied territories.

One thing that a lot of people don't realize is that the settlements are not at the edge of the West Bank, but right in the middle. Roads between them are security zones. Imagine having to go through a check point whenever you had to cross a freeway. So far, the Palestinians have only been offered a Swiss cheese country pock marked with settlements.

A workable solution was worked out by cooler heads in Geneva last year.

Unbelievable ignorance !!!

>>> Previous U.S. administrations have described Jewish settlements as obstacles to peace. One of Bush's predecessors, Jimmy Carter, went even further and called them illegal.

>>> A senior Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Sharon thought that no American president had ever made concessions so important to Israel as Bush did on Wednesday

Just curious.

Too early to tell. Kerry is not a strong candidate, but Bush's policies may cause him to self-destruct.

Printable Concentic Circles Anyone?

You might draw a cross on a piece of square grid paper. If you number the grids out from the center of the cross, you can use it to find the center of the mirror.

"I didn't like it one bit."

These acts appear to be War Crimes to me, but I certainly don't see the term mentioned in the media.

Bush may be a strong leader, but he is leading us into disaster; a Holy War against Islam. He doesn't seem to have a clue about, or give a damn for, Moslem feelings.

If Bu$h was a leader, he would immediately issue a clear, unambiguous apology to the Iraqi people on behalf of the people of the United States. He should also consider turning the investigation over to the international war crime tribunal to give it some credibility. The Pentagon sat on it since January and did not even start to investigate the intelligence operatives who seem to be behind the abuse until about 10 days ago.

Politics as usual

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

A vote against any bill does not necessarily mean that the voter is for the opposite cause. To use your own words, that type of logic is "Politics as usual".

Evidence of Iraq's tie to 9/11

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

Joe, this is great news!. You can become a bonified hero of the Rubuplican Pary, a true American patriot and a close friend of the White House. All you have to do is let president Bu$h know about this article. He will have the CIA and FBI verify the story and then he will shout it from the rooftops! Carl Rove would set aside tens of millions of dollars to make sure that everyone knows the good news. An easy vicory in the coming elections would be assured and I don't think that a political appointment for you is out of the question!

In the mean time, however, a few of us who don't lean so far to the right as to be horizontal will still think this is very old news that has already been disproved and discredited.

Well we are here - expect issues

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

IMO so far:

1. Fonts smaller - not good.
2. Pesonal history on forums - good.
3. Personal history starts with first post - not good. Must serarch to the end to find latest posts.
4. Deleted a duplicate post, but it remained visible - not good.
5. Cannot find link to go directly from a thread to the forum list - not good.
On Edit: Scratch #5, I found it cleverly hidden right on top.

6. Overall impression - quite good for a first shot work in progress, shows promise (and I'm hard to please).

SERIOUS PROBLEM !!!

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

>>> In the forums list I do not see any postings (or new threads) since about 05/18/04 3:31 PM except for a thread that I started at about 8:35 PM. They don't show on the collapsed or threaded. If I open threads there are postings after 3:31 PM, they just don't show up on the forum list.

>>> In response to my post in the Politics forum you asked if I had my time set. The clock on my computer is set and the posts I make have the right date and time, but I do not see any clock or time settings in the "My Profile" or "Display Preferences".

>>> This is a serious problem. If you can't fix it quickly, you might consider going back to the older format since the forums appear to be unusable.

>>> P.S. I do see threads after 3:31 PM in the Day in the Life of the Administrator forum.

I looked at a lot of Forums and on many of them I can see posts after 3:31 PM. On most, I cannot see the last post listed in the “Last Post” column of the Forums when I go to the list of postings for the specific forum. It appears that some sort of update task in the new software is not doing its job. With the old software new postings showed up on the forum list immediately.

Hope this helps.

Where Have All the Liberals Gone?

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

A lot of people felt that Herb's banning of a news article was biased toward the right because of the comment about supporting the troops. It's his right to set the standards and their right to go elsewhere.

I am certainly no prophet, but I now have a much better understanding of what it is like to be a teacher in a ghetto! wink
